I just can’t understand the hypocrisy of vegans. Sure our steaks, chops, chicken breasts were alive once. But how cruel is it to pluck a fruit from a tree, rip a veggie from the ground, consume it in many cases while still alive or in the throes of dying? We, meatatarians, wouldn’t think of munching on a live animal.

Good worship
Good meal again at the Mexican place. Tony will be back next week. I for one liked the change of menu for awhile, although it's a bit pricier.
Tonight is a hot dog roast after a short devotional, that I will provide. Will be a nice night for it, not too hot out.
One of our couples that eat out after worship, just got back from a week in Maine. With dad being in the nursing home now, We decided not to do the 3 week trip out west in Sept, but maybe will do a week trip up the coast. Still need to knock out RI as the only state I have not been to in the east. Another couple going up to VT in Sept. My wife has not been to Maine, so maybe we will go up there.

Successfully avoided the women today. LOL.
Managed to get the tree branch down and cut up. Stacked wood too. Hackberry....should be good burning wood. Not fun cutting up. Need to run all the chains up the road this week for sharpening. Got to be ready for fall and winter.
Sprinkled a few drops...could use the rain.
Hope all had a good day.

Genesis 29&30:
Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.

Animal meat as food for humans was not introduce in the Bible until the Flood. That is when life spans decrease.

To feel pain a central nervous system and a brain need to be present.

Good (Monday) morning. Overnight Low of 9.7C and it's presently 13.4C, cloudy & calm.

A lovely Church service yesterday, followed by our 'AGM'. As per usual, the 'usual suspects' volunteered for the various positions... so, once again, I'm the Warden. A great 'bring a plate' luncheon followed.

The "Mad Agisting Horse Woman" + Daughter returned from the Endurance Race = their horses were excited to be on the ride and Mum/Daughter were tired from the competition. A good time was had.

Not much is planned for today.

That's about it, take care all.

After moving around for a bit this morning, I realized that my knees were not liking me at all. They both ached, the left one worse. Must have been the tumble I took yesterday while we were packing up all the goodies to come in for the day.
I've got CBD cream and also a CBD vape, so that is what I did all day. Zero work outside. Knees feel great when I am sitting down. They only start to hurt when I stand up and walking makes them worse.
I could probably talk to the quack about that, but he will probably just give me another script of goobers to shove down my yap. No thanks!!

The Gen 1 account was when God had only created Adam, was before Eve was created. After they were removed from the Garden for disobedience, they had children. In Gen 4:3 After Cain and Abel were born, Cain presented Fruits of the Soil as an offering, while Abel presented Fat Portions of some of this flock. God did not accept the fruit offering, but favored the Fat portions of his flock. This is the first mention of the concept of an offering to God.
"In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord. 4 And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering, 5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. "

I tend to believe (my opinion), they ate meat since the time they were offering Fat portions, even if it was not authorized. My opinion is based on the fact that humans became so overcome with evil so quickly, that God decided to wipe them out.

In Gen 6:3, Before the flood, God reduced the lifetime of humans. It was not the result of eating meat, but rather because of their inclination of doing evil.
In Gen 9:3 after the flood, God authorized all food. It does not say this is when humans began eating meat, but that it was now authorized.

Was a great day to spend time on back porch. Have a few things to cleanup in barn and shop before PT visit at noon. Then its relax in afternoon.

good Monday morning all
up early, for no reason

Ron, I have a small version near my front door but until seeing yours
never realized they look like little artichokes.

67 going up to 82 today with a brief rain shower coming through shortly radar shows.
no plans yet for today
that will take a second cup of coffee

Mostly I think the heat would be shimmering off the pavement on your long rides in the sun, you are a lot
tougher than I am, think I'd melt

Buppies, drink an extra water today, take care of yourself and feel better

It's a shower morning but a no shave morning.
nice to get out of shower and not have to shave
I try to shave every two or three days, or more often if needed.
my Braun electric shaver is ok in a pinch but always winds up irritating my skin.
I use one of those shavers with five blades and rarely use shaving cream, just soap.

being retired has its privileges
besides I grow my beard back in October anyway so I don't mind shaving.

really miss the early morning daylight
seem to wait forever for the sun to come up now, and less time after dinner to do stuff outside.
but Christmas is coming...
always look for the bright side

The daylight hours are sure diminishing. We are loosing 2 min and 40 seconds of daylight each day now. I would have a difficult time living in a Northern latitude like Alaska.

@Looking4new you must be loosing even more daylight than us each day now.

63 outside right now, lower 80's expected.

Don't know what I may get into today. Wife and MIL taking a trip to see MIL's old property that has a 1800's cabin on it that we relocated and rebuilt. The cabin is now an AirBnB. Should be interesting for them.

Need to get the weed whacker out and do the fence lines sometime soon. The grasses are thinning out and drying up. Should be a lot easier trimming.

Hope all have a great start to the work week, or another week of retirement. Be safe.

decided to treat myself with two nice to haves.
knowing I can't upgrade my Makita string trimmer to a double line, purchased the
modern equivalent of what I have now but upgraded a little. I only need to trim grass, nothing else, so
don't need the more expensive commercial unit they have. I've seen that one and it's impressive but over spec
for my use. And a little heavier which is not good for me.
that should be in tomorrow.

also in tomorrow are a new pair of speakers for my office.
only 50 bucks more a pair than what I have now, which is very modest, but
I'm hoping for an audible difference. Going from KEF's smallest speaker to a small
Elac speaker. Small is good to fit my existing wall stands, plus I have a Klipsch sub hooked up for deep bass.
definitely looking forward to cranking that up. And since I keep reverting back to listening, at times, to Fleetwood Mac,
I ordered a best of cd which should also come in tomorrow. I have a Cambridge cd transport and a PS Audio Sprout integrated
amplifier and use Pandora for background music, often the allison krauss channel.

and I have Popgadget to keep me on the straight and narrow and not drink too much audiophile koolaid. ;)
particularly as i get older, I/we all start having limited hearing, not to mention in my case severe hearing loss
in one ear. Sure screws up the stereo effect, but I have balance cranked to one side to compensate a little.
But my one good ear sure can appreciate better sound and thankfully today it's not expensive.
