Good morning.
66° with a high in the upper 70’s and 0%POP forecast under a partly cloudy sky.

Yesterday my buddy and I decided to forego a lunch flight in the little plane, and instead went to a giant scale RC show.
There were actual turbine powered jets

Overall it was an interesting show.

Didn’t get much else done other trim some fence posts to a uniform height with the Makita chainsaw.

Today starts with seeing grandson get on the school bus for his first day of school.

Not sure what’s after that, but I sure I’ll figure something out.

The daylight hours are sure diminishing. We are loosing 2 min and 40 seconds of daylight each day now. I would have a difficult time living in a Northern latitude like Alaska.

@Looking4new you must be loosing even more daylight than us each day now.

Good morning, the low is 51 and going up to 61°F. Wind WNW 7 mph. Rain. The forecast says 40% chance of rain, but it is raining right now so that makes it 100% chance.

We are getting darker, sooner, but I don't pay any attention to how much. We do get a longer twilight at this time of year.

Knees feel better today, so IF it stops raining by noon I will get outside and start the next phase of the shelter erection.

That is my day planned out, now lets see if it happens.

Have a safe day all

good morning, 67 going to 79 sunny

Continued old lumber clean up. The 200 year old Oak and Chestnut wood have very tight year rings

The blades got damaged again when I forgot to use the hydraulic lift for the deck to get over some rocks

Gd starts college classes today. She is in the picture formed by the new students not sure if she is in the T or the U

Good morning! 69˚F heading to the mid 90s with partly cloudy skies and SE wind. This may be the last week of swimming because next week the highs will only be in the 80s. Water temp is still above 83˚, but not for much longer. This has been a very mild Summer, only a few days in the hundreds.

The Farm will have a soft grand re-opening after the flood in two weeks and the Fall Festival starts in 3 weeks. I think I start back up in October, when it really starts getting busy, will know more after the call back meeting.

Morning all, 67 up to 83 and cloudy, not rain last night.
Went to the orchard and got apples, peaches, apple butter and apple sauce.
Dog walk at peddlers.
Then back to water everything since the promised rain looked like a bust.
Son met his second room mate , all good so far, third is in transit to arrive this week.

Due to my severe lactose intolerance and my Pancreas issues, I eat mostly vegan when I go out to reduce fat and lower the risk of getting dairy. I will cook steak, pork, chicken at home.
Going to a US seafood , American Italian or American french restaurant is completely off my list, as is eating any food at other peoples houses.
In France and Italy I always stick to local recommended restaurants and never have problems.

From a tv show, slightly changed to reflect my skills at bush trimming.
I've worked for years on improving my skill, and am getting a lot better at it, but I'm still terrible. :)

Well, back to the day job, need to pay for college.

Be well,

'morning all. Recovering from detached retina surgery, 5 days out. Doing okay, I guess. Had to keep head down, to let gas bubble keep pressure on the laser repairs. Cleared to drive today, but not going anywhere, may have to mow. 48 degrees this morning, 64 in the house, ran the furnace (yeah, I'm getting soft...). Dr f/up visit for Wed.

Good Morning to All Who Celebrate! Currently 71° heading to a high of 79°. Sunny and clear for the foreseeable future.

Nephew's party was well attended, watching him try and shove a whole slice of cake into his mouth was entertaining. He's already enjoying the stuffed bulldozer I got him and very keen on the excavator my girlfriend sent for him. I told her the other day, at this rate he'll be able to start his own excavation company.

Mom stayed out there to help them get the week started as they have to do some running to appointments on top of everything else. Dad rode back with me on Saturday. Dog was excited to see him. On Sunday we fiddled more with the wireless bridge and discovered one was broken, so that got boxed up and ready to go back. Then we took off for Bass Pro Shops as Dad had his eye on a crossbow target. I looked for a .22-250 but didn't see anything of particular interest. Got the oil changed in the truck and then a stop at Harbor Freight to look at the chains that were recommended to me. Of course, they weren't in stock except for 1, but look heavy duty so I'll pick them up online today. Still on the hunt for that adapter, but I have a sneaking suspicion I'll need a 1 inch impact for it instead. Also, everything fits in my luggage that I needed to fit, so that's a relief.

As far as tractoring goes, I took the Kubota out to mash down the weeds around the dead trees I need to take this fall, mainly to remind myself where they are.

Gun Show in Harrisburg this weekend, reached out to my buddy...no dice. Taking the wife to a Penn State game to celebrate their anniversary. Can't believe it's been two years already. Time flies, but I think I say that every post.

Otherwise, just a normal work week scheduled ahead, need a few more things to pack for my trip coming up but that's an as I get to them type thing.

Buppies, I'd recommend the Liquid I.V. hydration packs. They were a lifesaver when I was landscaping. Like drinking two bottles of water in one. Easy to mix and pretty tasty.
Hope all college age kids have a great first week! I remember my first night in the dorms, everyone congregated around the pool table in the common area. One of the guys in my suite hit a bad shot, hopped the ball off the table and *Crash* right into the window! Without anyone needing to say anything, the whole place scattered, the entire place was empty before the last piece of glass hit the floor. That was beginning of what would be a very memorable first year. Hope everyone else has the same opportunity to make some great memories.

Y'all stay safe out there and be well! Enjoy the cooler temps!
Prayers for all ailing and recovering!

Good Morning,
I just can’t understand the hypocrisy of vegans
GM David, I won’t quote the Bible but I did find your post amusing 😉
The blades got damaged again when I forgot to use the hydraulic lift for the deck to get over some rocks
GM Frits, hopefully not too much damage 🙏

Good Morning,
Ct, 64 to start going to 82 with mostly cloudy skies at the moment.

Today is the last swim lesson for the kiddos. School starts this Thursday for the boys. They go to kindergarten this year. A long day for those kids, something like 8 am to 4 pm drop off time.

Going back up into the garage attic this morning for more clean out 😉
The dump is closed on mondays but I can load the truck tomorrow. We haven’t looked at this stuff in years so I’m guessing we probably don’t need it.

Hope all have a great start to their week. 🙏

69 going to 83...fog has finally burned off and lower humidity is expected.

Mostly, I think I'd rather be hiking where only bears, rattlesnakes and ticks are the danger, rather than gravel and dog bites. 😁 Glad you had such a long ride with no other problems, other than heat.

Buppies, FWT' idea about electrolyte powders to mix in water is a good one...but some have a good bit of sugar, such as Liquid IV...I think one without any sugar that is supposed to taste good is LMNT (it has stevia in all its flavors except the one called Raw Unflavored, which will taste salty. Not sure if you are okay with stevia). A couple of AT you-tubers I trust are sponsored by LMNT and offer a code for a free multi-flavor sample pack with an order...let me know if you want the code and I'll go watch one. Re-Lyte is another reco'd brand. We have some of the Liquid IV that my wife picked up at Costco that she has used on occasion and likes.

I spent a couple hours yesterday afternoon with prep and power washing an old wooden swing we bought at Yoder's many years ago...it hangs under a huge maple tree on a timber swingset frame I built for the kids 35 years ago...it was covered in algae, moss and lichens, and needless to say my wife wouldn't go near it.

I used my FEL bucket to lift it and move it over to a sunny spot and place on sawhorses to wash it...wondering how it would look under its green covering...turns out it is beautiful again, in great shape, and once dry, and re-hung, my wife, me and Della all went swinging together. A win!

Today would have been a nice day to hike.
Took fuel injection rail off the ranger, no fuel spray when I try to start. Pulled injectors, sprayed with carb cleaner. Reinstalled, no start, but battery now low. Got charger on battery,
Ordered Chinese set of injectors to try
Smoky laying on my lap. Beautiful day, nice breeze. Too nice out to scan slides.
Wife picked bunch of green beans and more tomatoes.

Good job on making it through keeping the head down for 5 days, not easy to do
The next phase involves restrictions on lifting anything heavier than a few pounds. That is where I thought it would be safe to lift again after a few weeks
And that broke it up again requiring second surgery

Good morning TBN!!
Glorious 60 degree morning . High should be about 80 and finally the humidity is breaking.

Busy weekend. Started with some help with concrete pour on Sat. Calling the bridge finished. At least for now. Didn't get any rain and the river went down pretty quickly for a change.
Wife only ordered 5 yards but it did the "business" side quite well. Visited for a while then every one left except my son and grandson. We ended up lust playing the rest of the weekend. Son left this morning to catch a flight back home in Fla.
Kinda bittersweet. First time he's been home since oldest son died.
Couple of pics

That's me on the bottom. Son on top in the middle and GS right behind him.

Got the problem areas fixed and will fill some here and there later. FEMA money running out. :)
I'm happy though. Been a long project on my own.
Agenda today is RELAX.
More grands and there parents this week end. They sure keep me busy sometimes.
Week is supposed to be great with just a hint of fall.

Already had my second cup.
Everybody have a great and safe day!!

71.6F and partly cloudy @ 12:00, heading up to around … 70F ???

Chance of rain this afternoon with lake effect showers and thunderstorms developing.

Yesterday ended up being a big watering day.

First up were the 6 pumpkins in back which got 2 gallons each.

Then did the 10 arbs with 2 gallons each.

Next up were the 3 winter squash plants at the southwest corner of the house, 2 gallons each.

Then headed out to the little peach tree and gave it 6 gallons.

Finally, the Japanese ornamental got 4 gallons and the Buffalo was empty.

Woman came out around that time, noticed bag worms on one of the burning bushes.

Headed around back to refill the Buffalo and hooked The Woman up with the insecticide sprayer with Sevin in it for the bag worms.

Took water out of the partially refilled Buffalo and gave all the tomato plants in grow bags which were drooping 32 oz each.

Woman picked another ripe tomato and a couple of green beans (the first this year) I picked a couple yellow squash, 3 more okra, and some more green beans I spotted while weeding.

Got Buffalo fully refilled and headed around front to pump up the tires one of which was obviously low.

Got that done and topped off the transmission fluid in The Woman’s car with the fluid She had ran out and gotten earlier.

Then headed off to the front for more watering.

Gave Japanese ornamental another 4 gallons for a total of 8.

Red maple, ginkgo and largest Rose of Sharon all got 10 gallons each I believe.

Smaller Rose of Sharon’s got 3 gallons each.

Was about a gallon left, threw that on the small peach tree and took the Buffalo around back to be refilled.

Checked the bag worms on the way, they were no longer moving …

Hooked up the soaker hose for the pole beans and the west side of the arched trellis and gave it 30 minutes at medium flow.

Big crowd out there last night, probably 25 - 30 individuals between the bats and the swallows.

Noticed a scratchy throat late yesterday afternoon … so Woman apparently has managed to share whatever creeping crud She came down with, with me … 🤬

Not sure what all I’ll get to today.

Need to dole out meds.

Tomorrow is trash day so there’s that.

Probably work on getting that yellow squash and okra bagged and put in the freezer.

Maybe get the Buffalo refilled when I go down to get the Cub and the dump cart for the trash. Still need to water the trees up along the road.

Hope everyone is having a decent Monday …
