success getting son moved off my phone plan, now it’s just me, and 44GB all by myself to use in a week before I switch. That’s what Verizon wireless gets for screwing me, should have done this a long long time ago. It also got my son paying for his own service.
Way to go Buckeyes.

Same here. Been years since helping Dad load cattle to take them to Lexington. Finally got someone to haul them after we round them up in the pens. I remember during one of his last hospital stays I told him all the cattle have been picked up and sold at the auction in Lexington. The land was leased to relatives in the cattle business after he died.
Wish we could find someone to lease the farm to

The fences, pens and the grass has to be in good shape. He always spent more on feed, new fences and pens than he made selling calves.
It's unbelievable how much things have grown up since dad sold off the cows. And fences haven't been repaired in years now, so it would take a lot to keep cattle there now. However, hay fields are still in decent shape.

I got the north field cut today and my new "off road diesel' stickers installed on both oil tanks and the hood of the Kioti near the fill hole.

I've been heating with ORD since I got the furnace installed in 1995. It is a mid efficiency forced air oil furnace that is still 85% efficient. It is a Hunter furnace with a Beckett burner.

When I bought this place in 1994, (I've no idea how old the house is), it had a steel roof and the same roof is there to this day. I heard they are guaranteed for 50 years.

Coffee has been poured. 44° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 75° with sunny skies. Got tractor cleanup and greased yesterday. Got company in afternoon. So back field grass did not get cut. Started to prune shrubs around house. That did not go far. Buried down in second shrub was a large hornets nest. Will get out before sunup and spray it.

Good Morning from Central Texas.

About 5am, 79 degrees / mid 70's dew point. A 90% chance for rain later. Will see, the NWS is wrong more than right.
Hauled 12 head to auction yesterday. (3) mine, (9) F.I.L. Cattle prices are very good between 2.80 to 3.10/lb.
Closest call I ever had to being seriously hurt as big cow with horns came after me. Had me turned around and missed running me down by 2 inches. UGH. Cow smashed into pen fence, now work to repair.
Would like to get rid of the cattle. But, going Wildlife Exemption requires more efforts. Plus, FIL and I run adjacent lands and he wouldn't want to do that.

Waiting on Rains !

Hope all had a great day.

   / Good morning!!!! #210,810
hope it's a gentle rain Spike, no arroyo busters...

we could use a little rain here, going into a dry time
last year I was on the road in late august and wasn't here to water, lost
one of my willow shrubs. It's replacement seems happy and if it hasn't rained in several weeks,
will go take a pail of water to it. I only do that the first year of planting.
That area is submerged half a dozen times a year anyway by the drainage ditch overflow

those missing shingles on my roof ripped off in a storm, same one that landed a huge tree on landlord's barn.
likely need a new roof but I'm sure this will drag on. I have called one place for an estimate, calling another today.
hard to get big companies to do little jobs

Good Morning,
Vt, 45 to start going to 70 or low 70’s. Clear skies as best as I can tell at this hour.

Built a campfire for the kids last night, they had a grand time. Hoping to go for a spin on the boat today when it warms up 🙏

I've called a "real" roofer but wonder if this was yours, what would you do?
Drew, I’m thinking it could be patched but if it was me I would rip it off and start over, and done right with modern shingles.

Hope all have a great day 🙏

48 and loving it...going to 77.

Ron, that's a tough looking nest...be careful.

Kyle, I got in the water with Della sometimes...feels good. We took a long hike yesterday, but I stayed dry...it was pretty cold.

Worked on my 3pt sprayer yesterday, doing a little plumbing repair...stayed too windy to spray.

Good morning TBN!!
59 this morning with a little chance of rain. Got a brief shower after sunset. .10 in the gauge.

Yesterday was a relax day of sorts.
City folk are here for the weekend.
Taught the kids how to plasma cut a little on the old tank. Told them that I would show them how to put it back together today if they want so there maybe some welding in the shop.
We also cleared part of one of the trails covered from Helene. Taught them some chainsaw skills. May teach them some more today on another trail. All this teaching is getting some things done :)
Spent the rest of the day on the 4 wheelers and general "play"
More of the same today so we will see what gets done.
They brought their 2 dogs with them so Takoda had a great time all day. He was out cold after his bedtime treat. I don't think he moved all night. Good for him as he doesn't get a lot of social time.
The clan will be getting up soon so...

Time for a second cup
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

is your commute down to the supermarket just too stressful?
do you need more soothing?
Lincoln has your solution, all you need to do is contemplate the waterfall

begs the question what happens when one of these screens dies out of warranty, whooeeee

59 outside this AM. Heading to upper 70's.

Spent the last two days doing pasture work. Took the tractor from the pastures to the wood line. Cutting a path/clearing/trail over some ground that is usually wet. Not this time, this year. It was so dry I ended up making four cuts to the woods. Widening the path by double. Might as well take advantage of the dry conditions while we can.

Not much else going on, sipping coffee, browsing TBN.

Today will visit the National forest where my ranger daughter is working. Then an airport run to get the MIL back to her home. It will be good just getting some time with the wife again.

Hope all are enjoying the holiday weekend. Since it is labor day here in the US, I will do some more tree line work tomorrow. Should be a nice day for it. Be safe.

on a Sunday morning have been enjoying some organ music on my new speakers.
it's like discovering different sounds all over. Sounds I'd never heard before.
I particularly like the beginning of the first piece. Then it gets too loud and I have to turn it way down.
Really hard on my bad ear but oh what music
the second piece is on a really old organ in Spain.

I wonder how the air pumps work and how much cfm these systems make. Must be a lot to make a
prolonged low bass note.
Paul, PJS, this one's for you.

Morning all, 69 going to 78 and sunny.
Took some time yesterday to try and straighten out the front plastic bumper on the Jeep.
Heat gun and some manipulation got it about half way out.
Did a bunch of little stuff and then dog walk at peddlars village, dog loved being mauled by the kids, lot of other dogs out.
More watering of the garden and some bushes, and a lot of leaf clearing from the pool.
Yellow Jacket nest is pretty quiet now, not sure if I will powder again, will go check in a bit for any activity.

Be well,

This mornings dog walk greeters

What a Yellow Jacket nest looks like when you accidentally rip the top off it with the forks.
The next night when I checked it, this whole area was covered in sleeping YJs. Easy to see why they were angry with my tractor.
