41 going to 65.

Well, I'm not happy that BEF is leaving. He made good points. I've asked him to reconsider (and to tell me what forum he's moved to. I hope it doesn't have similar censorship).

I sincerely hope the rest of you stick it out, and that Muhammed can work out a solution. Sounds like he's trying.

My body felt good yesterday, and the weather was perfect, so decided to head to the mountains and work on my Shenandoah 500 goal...beautiful hike, Autumn in full color, deer galore, bear poop, but no bears seen...hiked a trail I had not been looking forward to, but it turned out to be delightful. Della hit a new high for distance. Picked up chicken bar-b-que, collards, Brunswick stew, cornbread and pumpkin muffins on the way home to cheer up my wife, who has had a rough cold for the last few days. She's been careful not to spread it to me.

did I hear the word frost?

I'm being chased.
by a big bad storm coming up the
East coast. I'm headed home Sat morning when it's supposed to hit here
and I sure will be glad to get off that tiny spit of land where the campground is.
have no desire to float away in middle of night.

State Park issued notice that cancellation penalties for this weekend would be waived, meaning you might want to think about not coming. Ok, I'm going, not coming but I bet tomorrow morning's drive home, I'll be up and out as soon as I can see, will be very interesting coming up that narrow barrier island with winds and surf picking up. No matter what it will be a windy drive which is very tiring. My hands are so sore I can hardly make a fist.
Higher the winds, more you have to grip the wheel.

best part about nasty weather at beach is you can get great pictures. Reminds me to carefully clean my Iphone camera lens after the last beach salty air attack.

always good to go home, literally and figuratively.
I've been blessed because I still could
and live in the community where I was born.

could not get my backup camera to work, keeps saying no signal. Have to take rear part off when I get home and manually charge it.
this should make backing into my narrow driveway
between the two black mailboxes in a downpour extra interesting.
I wouldn't hit mine, that's on drivers side.
It's swinging rear of rv around to clear the other black mailbox I can't see whatsoever.
and I sure know doing this by "touch" is not good so I will put an extra k turn in so I can crowd my side at the best angle. That corner of the rv has had enough excitement already, no more dings.

maybe Bill can send me some big truck docking karma. Scott too.

as I used to say docking boats, no trading gelcoat with anything. this rv has a lot of fiberglass and my neighbor's mailbox 4x4 sunk into concrete looks really strong.
so if it's blowing wind, Captain Drew will bring it home with no dings on anything.
These motorhomes do get squirrely in the wind so I'll be glad to get home.

Good morning Dennis.

Good morning TBN!!
Chilly 44 here this morning. Probably won't make 70 today. Might get a little bit of the rain daugen mentioned on Sat night. Depends on how far West it goes.

I'm not going anywhere. The only time I click on ANY ad is accidental. If I want to shop I will do that in my own way. Holds true for any site or forum I visit. Even then if I am looking at something it will then show up as advertising in all the sites I visit. I also hope nobody else goes. This forum has the biggest brain trust I have ever seen with the nicest members I have ever seen.
Yesterday I spent with some experimenting (fail) on the buggy. Then took everything ignition back off of it. Except the stator. It's working as it should. Hopefully new kit will be here tomorrow. Then I can start over! Hopefully it will be successful. I wouldn't care to much but, I have driven this buggy and it is FUN to drive.
Nothing special today. Walk the dog and see what else presents itself.

Time for a second cup
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

I had a long talk with Buppie's son who was near me in Myrtle Beach.
Son and Father equally proud of each other, nice to see

had my breakfast, time to pack my thermos of coffee and I'll guess this morning it will be a couple fig newtons for half way there break and I guess some sugar. Energy while driving is good...

these mornings when I have extra time, always look at route to see if some place to stop along the way to see something and kill some time. I've driven route 17 a million times, time to see miles of solar panels and windmills. And big open areas where the wind will howl. And enormous flat fields with some of the richest earth in the country, the dark soils near and below the Great Dismal Swamp. It's really good stuff, yield records set there

I assume that the driving force is adjustable ... to control the set depth ?
I remember having some very old pneumatic nailers that were designed this way, and it never works well. On roofing nailers, it was just about impossible to get consistent sets based on adjusting pressure, to where I ended up throwing that nailer (old Bostich) in the trash.

The problem with using force or pressure to control depth is that wood is horribly inconsistent. One nail is going into soft sapwood, while the next is attempting to drive into a knot with hardness several times higher than the sapwood.

The only saving grace, if this is actually how that nailer works, is that the fence wire itself is consistent. But even there, apply enough force to consistently set staples into knotty bits or heartwood, and you'll probably be severing the wire when you drive the same staple into a softer area of the wood.

Most nailers today use much higher force than required, combined with a depth stop that varies the height of the nailer tip off the workpiece, for consistent sets.

good morning, colder in the 30's on the morning walk going to 68 today

VA keeps sending us mail on our address that we are returning. Son is a VA so they must have gotten the address mixed up.

Picked up a prescription and worked some more on the welding shop. Could call it good enough with the 4x8 plywood sheet on the stone wall but bothers me that some protruding stones are problems so redoing it with more spacers and imbedded beam to attach to

Wife is happy for pumpkins we picked up and mums flowers in some large pots

40 outside this AM, heading to mid to upper 60's. Seems like there is a storm coming up the coast.

In addition to the one here. LOL. Wow.... It's a flipping Good Morning thread!!!

Gooooood Morning.

Nothing of interest around the house yesterday. Bunch of crazy horse people doing crazy horse stuff were out front most of the day. One of the boarders horse has a skin cancer that is slowly progressing. So the owner is trying to take care of it.

The hornet nest looks to have zero activity. I will wait until the cold weather arrives in earnest before I attempt to get it down.

One the real job front, it's like funny keystone cops episode. Well not really funny. It's pretty sad. Furlough notices went out, then a few hours later rescinded. Then another message to hold tight while "the wording is corrected". People still in the twilight zone on this stuff.

I need too make a dump run and find some time to get some beer this AM.

I have some more popcorn ready and am watching TBN.

Hope ALL have a really good start to the day. Be safe. Stay well.

Good morning.

Good morning, the low is 37 and going up to 61°F. Wind SSE 8 mph. 40% chance of showers.

Looks like summer as we know it is done. We might get Indian summer, but I don't hold my breath on that.

I use the 'like' button as a place marker It is the only thing I have. It isn't like I can 'dog ear' the corner of the page like you can with a book.

Wagtail, I guess we cannot kill time any more.;)

I tend to live by George Carlins' rules (the 7 words you can't say on television) when it comes to language. Regarding censorship, I don't believe in some old fuddy-duddy telling me what I can and cannot say. This forum thread is censored, I know it is because there is a list of words you can't say and if you do say them what gets posted looks like this, "* ***'* ******* ****".

As for our post counts being halfed or worse, if there isn't mention of tractor in the post (because this is a tractor website), then the post doesn't count. I don't agree with that either, but there is nothing I can do about it other than leave. I LIKE it here and prefer to stay so I will roll with the punches.

There is a lot more I could say regarding a lot of things, but keep my mouth shut because like my Grandfather told me once, "you don't have the right to say anything about the political situation in ANY country that you didn't vote in.
It is EXTREMELY bad manners to do so."

Today is a dump/town run along with stopping at the shop to see how they are coming along with the Kioti. Hopefully they are done and waiting to get paid.

Have a safe day all
