Peter, I'm half a mile in between two local apple orchards.
The other orchard has even more varieties, but less choices.

working on plans for final rv trip down to Rock Hall Maryland to join my friend
with his new rv travel trailer. Thinking of staying at Bay Shore campground.
everything on Eastern shore and much of Delaware seems to be resort priced.
no bargains to be found except for a few state parks.
So many restaurants to choose from in Rock Hall.
Used to take my boat there a lot, Waterman's restaurant an old favorite.
But sure has a lot of local competition

Probably do that mid next week, then bring home to winterize and put in storage.
Got a spot in Hatfield PA where I stored it last year, to store Dec 1 thru March.
can't wait to get my car in the garage

Good morning all. 61ºF for the start, overcast sky, light breeze. Made coffee to start day, cleaning lady prep, texted her when she didn't show, she said she would be there 11:30. Started a load of laundry, went for bike ride, she showed right after I got back. Got changed and staying out of the way. Neighbor brought me fresh catfish fillets, lunch nap and heading out to mow, then realized this morning's work not posted. More tonight.
Resuming Wednesday 10/22/25 11:41 AM CDT post 213,074:
David good to hear great mowing session with new tractor and mower. Not surprised trees need to be trimmed higher for the cab.
RS sorry weather not good for outside work. Looks like you have made great progress on water storage system.
Dennis I like the pic. I can hear Snagglepuss's thoughts, " Oh goodie more lap time on agenda!"
Thomas love the family circus cartoon.
Thomas sorry about the wind. Glad you are getting some rain back in the ground.
Randy(wag) glad in town trip went well and wine faeries made a delivery to PO before you made it there :) Sorry some bug has bit you. You know the BOM had to move stuff because you knew how bad their guesses were!
Thursday morning 10/23 3:33 AM CDT:
Ron glad bracket done and painted. Hope shopping and shop cleanup went well. Nice squirrel pic.
Bill hop you got a lot of energy conserved.
Scott(vt) hope the work was on your antenna, and not delivering heating oil. It will be interesting to hear how the contact list changes with the new additions.
Drew hope bed making in RV went well. I would think the RV dealers would be motivated to make deals. A few dollars on a deal is better than no dollars on no deals.

Years ago,I created a spreadsheet with all the common heating sources where you could plug in your cost of fuel and it would give you the cost per BTU. It’s major innacuracienis that I didn’t include a factor for efficiency for the various heaters. It did have the COP for electric sources, but not for the various combustion heaters.
I’ll see if I can find it and share.
Here is a link to an excellent heating cost calculator;

An example with my current values,

I like the watermans, only place there I have eaten.

Also fortunate to have many orchards in my area, can think of 6-7 off the top of my head, and others we have never stopped at. Lots of commercial growers also. multiple apple processing plants in the gettysburg area.

Frits sorry color not more spectacular this year.Glad D closer to home for her birthday celebration. Sorry wife is having a time standing and walking, has she considered a cane?
She has canes, walker, wheelchair, wheelchair lift in the van etc. She also need shoulder replacements and that limits what she can do physically
In the house she leans on counters/tables etc and manage to get from room to room and outside she hangs on to me for support
But it varies day to day how she feels and how much she can do

Nice day outside, once things warmed up a bit.
Got back field and along creek mowed, probably last mowing except to do the leaves.
used FEL to move the log blocking access from road along the creek, moved it back some so I can get mower past it, but still blocks larger vehicles.
Mixed more roundup for the wife, sprayed a bunch. stopped mower and told wife I mixed roundup, and where I had sprayed and how much was left. After all that She says, Oh, I need some round up mixed up. And she complains I don't listen. :ROFLMAO:
changed SD card on camera down at creek, but haven't looked yet.
Moved some of the old 16 ft deck boards that have been piled on top of my old picnic table in back yard. Discovered a bunch of carpenter ants in them, they did some damage. Ants made big hole in picnic table board also. Then moving other old boards and found a bunch more. I sprayed them all. All this old pressure treated lumber.
got out battery chain saw and made lots of short boards out of long boards, firepit sized. Kept a few long ones and put behind the barn.

Came home to tractor problems today. Tractor started and ran fine yesterday, although it was only for about 5 minutes. Tonight had planned on dropping mower and putting disc on to bust up garden before the rain later this week.

Turn key no turn over, no click, nada. I knew terminals were clean but removed and cleaned anyway, part of list, lol. Checked 50 and 60 amp fuses, also seem fine. Battery checked with meter at 12.8volts. Even put charger on just for kicks, no change. No lights on dash dim when keys is turned.

Even tried to jump at starter, no dice. By then it was dark, so packed up and will brainstorm until tomorrow night.
