Good Morning to All Who Celebrate! Currently 42° heading to a high of 43° so we don't have too much further to climb. Looks clear for the foreseeable future.
Weekend firewood collecting went well. Got everything processed and another two bucketloads down to the firewood stack. 500i ran like a champ since I'm again discovering problems with the Farmboss. This time it didn't want to seal the bar oil tank. Of course I didn't notice it leaking until I went to put it in the new and improved Sawhaul, ergo it marked it's territory clear across the pole barn and then out the man door.
So I'll have to see why it's cranky again.
Pleased to report that Sawhaul made an update to their design, so the weight of the saw no longer rests on that flimsy plastic piece. It's now secured in place to the steel holster with a screw and washer, so the weight is spread more evenly.
Log Splitter ran well, even though the trees I was processing had lots of knots. Think the oaks were immature when they died, too many lower branches and not enough solid trunk/limb wood. I only split the best stuff, wasn't worth fighting with the crotches.
After that, put everything back on Sunday and re-covered the log splitter. Need to also soak the pins holding the table and log lift together. They had accumulated some rust. Think a bath in WD-40 will resolve that. Log splitter will be called to service again later in the winter for the big session as well.
Mom has been cleaning and toddler-proofing the house, we are going to be responsible for little man this coming Wednesday as his mom and dad are heading to a wedding in VA. Hope to be able to take him on a tractor ride since he's big enough now, but time will tell. If I do so, there will be pictures!
Also need to pick up a few pallets from work to extend the log pile and get to stacking. I'm sure all of my hard work will end up dry-rotting, but the old man wanted the wood and they're his trees. Oh well.
Back to tackling the Monday morning crazies.
I'm envious of the snow/snow pictures, as far as I'm concerned it can't come soon enough!
Y'all stay safe out there and be well!
Prayers for all ailing and recovering!
