Nice lights Mostly.

Slept in bed about 4 hrs, now in chair beside a nice fire. Weather station needs new battery, only reporting in the daylight. Weather app says 27°.

   / Good morning!!!! #215,063
Drinking first cup of coffee. 20° with partly cloudy skies. Heading to 25° with sunny skies. Got a dusting of snow overnight. Decided to not give up looking for spare parts I have someplace for the Echo blower. After about 1 1/2 hours found them. They were hanging next to a beam in pole barn. Put them away in the spare parts cabinet where they should have been. Since blower is running good now will put on list for net year tune-up. With the cold forecast for tomorrow. I filled up bird feeders. Then back in house to relax in front of wood stove. Grocery shopping this morning. Then pickup new glasses. Going to be another good day to stay next to wood stove.
December, Full Cold Moon. Best view of it will be around 7pm this evening.

good morning all
that big bright moon was lighting the night here, very pretty to look at.

winter deep freeze has sure set in for next week, 26 now
waiting for coffee, other than brief doc appt with pain doc this morning, likely to
schedule an epidural on neck next. What he did three weeks ago really helped; too bad
only in one little area. I asked doc if he had a sheep dip I could walk through to get the whole
back done and he just laughed.

Don, nice new truck,congrats

Good Tractor Morning,
Scott Heck no need to spend that kind of money a IC-7300 would be plenty! Oh do you need my physical address for this? :)
GM Steve, I assume you want the new upgraded Icom IC 7300 MK 2 ?
😉😃
Ok Scotty, should we be worried for your new "habit"????
Kyle, so yes probably 😉 Kathleen said that I’m going to catch pneumonia being outside on the radio in that weather 😂 Then I asked her if I would catch pneumonia being outside dragging oil hose all day ? 😉

for many years Minis were cute unreliable cars.
if you weren't driving a Beetle with a big yellow plastic sunflower antenna, you
were driving a Mini.
then BMW bought the brand, remained crappy for ten years but since 2014 Minis have had
much better design, engineering and build. And became good cars.

They honestly are still too small for me and in a world of 6-9000 pound cars (not trucks)
now becoming common out on the road, that little car had sure better steer around
trouble. I thought the station wagons became bloated looking
only ones I ever looked at were John Works models with a stick, otherwise why bother.
Though even weak base engines can be fun with a stick shift.
you just rev it out more, like we used to.

those tiny cars sell well, Fiat sold a bunch of their tiny ones too.
I wonder how they hold up.

  • Early BMW Generations (approx. 2002-2013): These models (first and second generations) were known for various issues, including transmission failures, power steering pump failures, and problematic plastic cooling system components (water pumps, thermostat housings). This era is responsible for the brand's lingering reputation for unreliability, culminating in a last-place finish in a 2009 J.D. Power Initial Quality Survey.
  • Later BMW Generations (2014-present): Reliability dramatically improved with the third generation (F-chassis), launched in 2014. By engineering the cars with core BMW components, such as the B38 and B48 modular engines, and improved manufacturing processes, quality improved substantially. Independent surveys have confirmed this transformation; for example, MINI climbed to tied for third place in J.D. Power's 2024 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study, a major turnaround.
This analysis explains the shift in MINI's reliability from poor performance in earlier BMW generations to its current strong standing.

Good Tractor Morning,
Ct, 24 to start going into the 30’s. Tonite drops into the teens.

Looks like another work day, yes I know I’m only supposed to be working one day a week like Paul, but I’m trying to put together some extra cash for Christmas and that
Elecraft KPA500 linear amp. Don’t think I can swing it until January 😉

Ken, good luck climbing under that dash board, darn if I don’t hate doing that 😉

Phil, nice looking plow job, I’ll bet you love that heated cab in this weather 😉

Bill, if I ever come your way to visit, could you please put a colored stake where the cat poop is ? 😂
I always manage to find that the wrong way 😉

Hope all are feeling well and all have a blessed day 🙏

Good Morning from Central Texas,
At 5:20, the station says 48.7 degrees with 48.4 dew point. That is fog and light drizzle. Unfortunately, not the amount of rain we need but mucky out.
Feed cattle this morning and some indoor projects all I can think of to do. :)
Hope all have a great day !

Scott No I'm not that picky even don't see where the new MKII has much more that I would need! As for the KPA500 they do come up on QRZ swap quite often if you are ok with used I sure love mine!

Good morning TBN!!
Another cold start. 26 with a very red sunrise. Should get some precip tomorrow.

Pretty decent day yesterday. Mostly puttering in the shop.
Got the toys moved around and buggy on the lift to finish welding the bottom side. Note to self: Button top button on welding shirt when welding over head.
Got that done and now the Artic Cat is staring me in the face looking for some love. Maybe today.
Got the front wheel off the tractor and will get it fixed today. It's needing some love too. I need to get the hy lift cyl off the FEL and see what I can do about it's leak.
That is the major plan for the day. Running errands

Time for a second cup
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

Drew,
You forgot about the first 40 years of Minis!
The Austin, Morris and BMC built ones.
Actually a completely different platform whose appearance was mimicked by BMW.
The original Minis were smaller. I had a 1965 Cooper S with the 1275cc engine, and it was quite sporty. I bought it real cheap as a teenager after it was run off the road and through a fence. I brought it back to life with a one piece fiberglass front end that encompassed both front fenders and hood.

Looks like a few added improvements, they do have a code reader for CW, but I can copy 35wpm now and can probably copy 40 wpm for call signs, so that’s no improvement for me. 😉
Yes looking forward to that KPA500 😉 Was it a big difference for you ?

27 outside this AM, heading to mid 40's. May snow here tonight. Mention that word around here and the people lose what little is left of their minds. Should be fun.

Need to get going with the morning chores. Then real jobs.

Talked with neighbor yesterday, looks like fiber is coming to the street. Only about 10 years too late. Saw the bucket trucks and the pole inspectors a few days ago. Pole guy said he did not know when they would start, then day before yesterday the bucket guys show up. Looks like my cellular connections will have some competition. NOT. LOL.

Hoping all fare well with the current weather around us. Be safe.

Morning all, 26 up to 43 and cloudy.
Did not get back out to the jeep before it got dark, so will need to wait until Saturday to find out what is wrong with the blower.

Don new truck - nice have fun.

Winterdeere - Older minis fun, I got to ride in an original cooper back in the late 70's , amazing cars, but yes, they got big. Looked at one while deciding on wife's new car and the 2023 were all bigger, but still too small inside somehow. The original ones, we got 4 full size high schoolers into with some space to spare, newer ones would be tight.
I remember watching the minis race when I was a kid, both track and rally.

Be well,

Morning scotty

Remember minis from years ago and watched them race

I like European style racing and old off road racing land rovers hard to beat long time ago. The original Bronco was really good in the woods oh my I’m old
