where's Sassy?
she should be curled up right in front...

nice visit with my old friend, but honestly depressing. Now he is being tested for Parkinsons.
His wife and I discussed reality that they will soon need nighttime help so wife can get some sleep.
his wife is a saint but she can't run the business and be a full time caregiver too.
She's been doing that for over a year and it's clearly wearing her down. Plus she said her cancer may have come back.
Geez.

I try to help where/when I can. If he falls he can't get up so they really have their hands full.
thankfully they can afford getting help. Just a big change for them, having someone they don't know in their
house all the time. Quality of life issue for the wife too, but matter of picking best if not only choice.

could have been me five years ago, if I hadn't "come back".
I got lucky; my friend has not, he's been on a multi year decline.
I take my 5 year CT scan this Thursday, hopefully which will get me discharged from oncologist.
I have always expected mine to come back and grateful there is more time to enjoy life.
stats say I have another three years...
A male born in 1950 who reached age 65 in 2015 had an additional life expectancy
of about 12.8 years (for white males) or 12.9 years (for black males).

Will keep eating my yogurt and blueberries and try to stretch that out... ;)

to change the gloomy subject, pleased to not find a wet spot under car in garage.
So whatever is leaking isn't doing it quickly. Car goes into new shop for a diagnostic look see on Wednesday.

I think a short Sunday nap is in order

36F with a light snow shower @ 15:00, calling for a high of 37F. Clinton Station reports that this morning's low was 29.6F.

Worked most all of Friday night down in the utility room, cleaned up some wiring and got another set of duplex outlets for spare clothes dryer installed.

More un-faced fiberglass insulation cut and put up, some more 1" copper fittings sweated and put together.

Trimmed one stud under the first window and got that installed so I could lower the framing to trim out the wall. Waiting on the second one as it would be in the way of sweating on the horizontal leg onto the incoming feed from the well.

Started cleaning up the stationary tub basins. Using straight Prep-N-Etch (phosphoric acid) - works great to remove rust stains. Also cleaned up the exterior of the large filter with that and scrubbed the threads on it with some Dawn and water.

Woman got up early on Saturday and we spent most of the day relaxing, just talking and catching up.

Today She's making spaghetti and a Texas Sheet Cake which I assisted on ... ;)

Got float assembly removed from the brine tank so I can clean it off and finish cleaning the tank.

Collected up some of the old dirty salt that was in the bottom of the brine tank and brought it up and thoroughly dried it out in the oven and then put in shakers so it can be used to deice the walkway.

A little "Flatline" by Two Feet from "Is Max Maco Really Dead ?" with the coffee to get things started ...

Back down here in few and back to it.

Hope everyone is having a decent Sunday ... (y)

Good (Monday) morning. Overnight Low of 10C and it's presently only 16.2C, overcast with no predicted rain & calm.

Not much on for today. The PO says I've got something in my PO Box. The Christmas tree awaits.

SO MANY Christmas/'seasonal' charity adverts on TV... especially toys for the kiddies. <sigh> I'm getting close to declaring "Humbug!"

That's about it, take care all.

That looks gorgeous. Nice job all. I like the way you are storing the lids.

That's pretty darn low to make off with someone's terrapins. Fun photo though.

@Buppies gorgeous photos. Thanks!

@sodamo, I'm glad your sushi place panned out. Our favorite local place here folded a few years ago, and we are still looking for a replacement.

This morning's business was a shopping run down the hill, and the valley below us is socked in with pea soup thick fog, perhaps 40' visibility, but up the hill here, it is a gorgeous, sunny day. I have never seen fog this thick, outside of England. I wonder if it is for similar reasons (smog/smoke into thick fog). AQI of 2 here, while down the hill the AQI is 114+ in and under the fog. Ick.

All the best,

Peter
Yea, our goto place closed right after covid. Finally, this place has very good sushi.

Have to test the 4wd in the rain, the Ford would fishtail whenever I took off and turned. The Birds Eye view is spectacular for parking, did not have it on the Ford and my wife was complaining that I always parked crooked in the Ford. The acceleration is great with the hybrid motor and turbo kicking in. The ride is noticeable smoother and quieter than the Ford. The heads up display on the windshield is very nice the Ford did not have it.

The 14" multimedia screen is a big improvement over the 7" Ford screen. The wireless apple car play and charge pad is a nice addition always had to mess with cords on the Ford. The bed camera is also nice addition the Ford did not have along with the pulldown bumper step and the automatic tailgate and the digital rear view mirror. The ventilated and heated seats should keep me comfortable the Ford only had heated seats. Integrated trailer brake, the Ford did not have. I have not tried out the FLEX portable speaker yet, it pops out of the top of the dash. Power running boards, the Fords were stationary.

It has all the things the Ford had and more: adaptive cruise control, dual zone A/C and heat, cross traffic alert,Blind spot monitor, smart key system on the doors, automatic windshield wipers, auto headlights and auto high beams,
Guess you got the stripped model LOL

Drinking first cup of coffee. 8° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 27° with cloudy skies. 2" of freash snow yesterday. Got the came mess cleanup in drawers yesterday. One drawer was loaded with Apple iPhone and iPad boxes. They are now in a garbage bag. Cleaned off walkways from the fresh snow. Today I will get tractor out and cleanup driveway. Then look for projects to shop.
Staying warm.
