I've got nothing against T.C. but he was greatly mis-cast in the 'Reacher' movies....considering that the Jack Reacher character is 6'-5" tall and weighs over 260#'s...!

I've heard that same complaint before, which is why I never watched the movie. I've read every one of the books in the Reacher series...

Besides being a cultist?

SciFi? 'The Last Starfighter'. Silly, goofy, plus Catherine Mary Stewart. And 'Night of the Comet'. Odd, offbeat and Catherine Mary Stewart.

Ditto..I've also read all the short stories

They are a little dated now but another series that are page turners you can't put down are the books in the "Travis McGee" series from John D. McDonald...(the books all have colors in the title)...

All his books are excellent but the T.M. series is special...!

Jack Reacher with Tom Cruise is one of his best movies, he did a great job in that one, so didn't Robert Duvall.

You have not read any of the 'Reacher' books have you ?

Not saying the movies were not entertaining...the character portrayed just does not meet the character imagined by the reader...

BTW,..there are two "Reacher" movies with T.C....there is a new TV series/movies in the works with a more realistic adaptation of the character represented...

Kind of a side rant, but I really wish Leftflicks would have a feature telling you you saw that movie already.

I think they do but it may depend on your interface.

I loved the interface we have on our old Vizio TV but it started locking up the TV. It had a 5 star method of rating and if you rated it the stars would turn from red to gold. That way I knew I had seen it if the stars were gold.

We are having to use a Roku now and that interface just has a thumbs up or down rating. The thumb icons are an outline. If you rate a movie the thumb icon turns to solid white from an outline. It's not nearly as noticeable as the star method but it's something.

I hate the whole Roku interface. It auto plays previews while you are just trying to read the details. At the end of a movie it cuts the credits off to a tiny window and pops up a recommended movie which will auto start if you don't hit the back button. We are the type that sits in the theater until all the credits are done.

Reading the books and watching the adaptations is getting the best of both worlds and often twice the pleasure...
...I've often wondered why some of the most interesting and intriguing books are not adapted to video...I guess the talent is not there or the willingness of the original authors...

I read the Bourne books years before they became movies...they did a good job keeping up with the original stories which is often not the case...in many instances the movie versions really suck compared to the books...

One more recent movie i liked was A Quiet Place.... for a movie with little talk, was well done.

Nothing will ever be made to compete with blazing saddles...i have the theme song as my ting tone.

I liked Justified and Bosch, but there not movies.

I truly, truly enjoy The Quiet Man.

My cousin Vinnie was a cute film.

I really dislike Tom Cruise, but i really liked Top Gun

I also like the movie Cop Out

We certainly agree on The Quiet Man...one of the best movies ever, in my opinion. I also liked The Shootist. In that same line, I thought Treasure of the Sierra Madre was in the same category as The Quiet Man, but from the lack of comments you would think I was the only one who ever watched it. I also liked Payback, and Law Abiding Citizen. I have to disagree with you on Blazing Saddles though; I'll just leave it at that. I also heard that Debbie Does Dallas was a great movie, but haven't seen it on TV, either free or Pay for View.

Oh, here's one for the FWIW category; the made a colorized version of The Treasure of the Sierra Madre; I have a tape...somewhere... that I made from a TV presentation, probably 25 or 30 years ago. Anyone have a tape player? :D
