There was an old radio series called "The Fatman". The Fatman in this case was a detective. Great show.
I suspect that most here have never been at the end of their rope, it will make you reach out for any hope even though most here will not admit it. That one reason I can relate to this Christmas classic, yes even I can remember when I thought I had the world by the donkey and have seen days that I wish I was never born.......... We also have that Alastair Sim Scrooge movie on DVD, never really cared for the modern ones.....
I found an older version from 1938 that my family likes a bit better. It has Reginald Owen as Scrooge (I like that he's skinny, creepy and miserable in the beginning) and the actor who plays Bob Crachit, was married to the actress who played Mrs. Crachit. You get the whole transformation of Scripts, but a seemingly more realistic family scene at the Crachit's home which is a bit longer than in Alastair Sin's version.
Both have their merits.
The '38 version has a happier ending all around.
There's a couple other uploads of the 1938 version...go take a look when you can...I didn't see a full screen version, but I didn't look that long.Darn it I wanted to watch that 1938 version to, least I know what letterboxed means.
