Tiller good price on a woods GT tiller?

King Kutter does not make top of the line implements but yet quite respectable for average weekend warrior, saying that their gear type tiller is a bit of exception. it is manufactured here and have not heard much about unavailability of parts. The consumable part of the tiller is the hardened tines which is readily available. I don't reckon you can buy a car with lifetime brake pads yet. Gears are hardened steel and with the idler gear in the middle there is plenty of contact area to spread the load. You can drop a tank off of a not so tall cliff and destroy it..tiller is no different...

With bit of TLC KK tiller should last you quite a long time. For $200 price difference I certainly lean toward brand new KK rather than a second hand with mysterious history behind it. My 2 cent

I feel more comfortable about the KK. I plan on going to the auction and I'll just have to stick to a price and not fall for " eh whats another $50"

I think I'll settle for $850. $300 bucks off a new king kutter and alot under most other new tillers.

ND, sounds like ou have a plan, I think $850 would be a decent deal for the Woods, so long as it doesn't have any problems.

If you don't get it, the KK II gear drive is a good heavy machine. I have one and it works great. So far haven't heard any bad words about them, I think quite a few folks here on TBN have them and are happy with them.

But, you never know, it's the OFF season for tillers, so, maybe you will land a deal on the Woods? Please come back and tell us how much the Woods goes for?

Thats my only worry. It looks good. paint looks good. Tines look in good shape. It actually looks like it wasn't used very much. I think these tillers are chain driven. I did not see any oil leaks by the chain housing or the gear box on top.

I'll let you guys know what it went for.

I live near a clearing house store with stuff that gets returned, all sorts of equipment. I can get an off brand tiller for $375 that was returned and is probably a maintenance hog and once you buy it your stuck with it. I have yet to see anything from KK and they do sell KK stuff. I have a 3 point KK blade that does the job but I can also say that it's not as heavy duty as the same size LP.

I have a woods GTC52 tiller. It is built like a sherman tank! I was so impressed with my tiller, I now own a woods blade, a woods brushbull cutter, and a woods snowblower. In my opinion, what great quality. BTW, my tiller new last year was $1500.

Well I went to the auction I bid up to $900 and then the guy bid $1,000 and I walked away to avoid temptation. It went for the $1000 he bid.

It was **** cold outside with the temp standing at 4 degrees and a wind chill of -5

I'll keep my eye out for another used one but if not may have to buy new.
