I just realized how long it's been since I bought "regular" screwdrivers. Back when I did, I went for Vaco or SK most of the time. Craftsman and Klein served well too. All those brands had straight blades that did pretty well. Phillips screwdrivers were always less than satisfactory. Replaceable phillips tips have been the solution. I kept regular screwdrivers in three sizes of phillips for cases where I had to reach into a hole and there wasn't enough room to get the loose-tipped driver in.
For the past several years I have been using a DeWalt impact for almost everything. With the variable speed I can do screws as small as 6-32's without getting into trouble.
