Who would want to correct the problem? 68" for the price of 60" sounds like a swinging deal to me! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Chris,
I have to agree with you.

BigDave,
I was assuming that you wanted the 60" bucket. It wasn't until Chris's post that it dawned on me that maybe your happier with the 68" bucket. So maybe your "to late now" /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
was more to late for the dealer aand not meaning to late for you.

rockyridgefarm,
To properly answer your question on canopy's.
The canopy on my old JD is the John Deere deluxe canopy made especially for a few specific models of JD tractor, or so I was told. It bolts directly into threaded hole in the roll bar. It is all foam insulated with an black plastic interior liner and hazard lights on all four corners.
Who actually made it for JD, I don't know.
The canopy on the NH has the tag on the underside that says Sunshade. The tag says other stuff, I didn't read it all.
The JD one was made of heavy plastic, it had a good sized cut / slice in the top of it where the previous owner ran under a road sign while mowing for the state. He said he paid around $900 for it new. I paid him $350 used
The canopy on the NH is the one made of fiberglass, it has no insulation or inner liner, it is basically a shell with the 2 black metal supports fully visable. the cost of it installed was $450

rockyridgefarm,
I checked the label on the under side of my canopy today and it is indeed a Firebird brand canopy.

Mark,

I actually wanted the 60" so that my tractor would only have one width. 60" MMM, 60" FEL, & 60" rear blade. Yeah, I know all of these are a little small for the tractor, but I I to go with my limiting component which was the deck, since I needed that to fit in the shed. The reason I wanted one width is that I live in the woods, and if the front or rear of the tractor fit through a hole, the rest of the tractor would also fit. The 68" does cost more, so it was a toss up for me. I told the dealer about it, and he looked shocked, so as not to ruin his day, I told him I would keep the 68". Given I have the 68" FEL, I wish I had a larger rear blade, maybe I'll trade it in.

UPDATE.
Attached is a picture of the true, real, actual tractor I purchased. Everything has been installed, it is the right year tractor and it has no major leaks that I can find anywhere. It will be delivered Saturday morning around 8:eek:o am

Famous last words ???? I sure hope not.

As I stated in an earlier post, the only real differance you may notice are the hazard / tail light assemblies.

This picture gives a better view of the hazard / tail light assemblies. They were one of the main reasons I demanded a 2003 model.

I'm VERY envious. You know, this must be a first. You posted pictures of your tractor before you even had it! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I hope some day I'll be able to do that! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Are you going to change your signature now?

Golfgar4,
Thankyou for the compliments. I will most likely leave my signature alone, atleast for now. I kind of like the animated loader.
I have some road maintenance that needs tending to in the development ASAP, so the tractor will get some real excerise almost immediatly, Monday at the latest.
That is assuming they deliver tomarrow morning.
