Well I stopped into my John Deere dealer yesterday. I had ordered a couple of things for my 950 ( tach & cable ) I wanted to see if they had arrived yet. I am just going to pass them on to the new owner. When I informed them that I had sold the tractor ( I had purchased it from them ) the same salesman said that if he had known I was selling it he would have sent some people my way. He then asked me if I was planning on buying another tractor. I informed him that I already had and had bought a blue one. You could see his face instantly change. He asked why I hadn't come to him to get a quote on a new green one. I politely said that I didn't want a green one that I wanted a blue one.
He said, I don't like the blue ones. I said, you sell green & orange, your not supposed to like the blue one's. He said, Well I wish you luck with it. I have talked to Alot of guys who have owned blue ones and nobody liked them, they all had problems with them, there no good.
I said, you mean problems like All the ones John Deere had with the 4000 series? "to which I got no answer" I said that if you spend enought time around people who own and love tractors ( TBN ) you will find that all the colors have there occasional problem and that everybody has their favorite brand for their own reasons. There is no one tractor brand better then another and it is merely owner / buyer preferance. I just prefered to own a blue one this time around.
Although he remained polite, you could easily tell that he was Very Put Out. His stance, his voice, his demeaner just made it very clear. Oh Well !! I guess you just can't please everybody. And all you blue owners out there, it is now official from atleast one JD dealer. Our tractors are junk and maybe we should get rid of them. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
