When you say a full size chassis are you talking about a 1-ton dually or something bigger like a 450/550/4500/5500 or even larger? The reason I ask is because you are wanting a 12 foot body. Notice that powerstroke444e is saying he has to shorten his F450 down to an 8.5 foot body.That would be great toxic. I would like to get one made for a full size chassis, from a supplier. If not I have a good weld shop/fabricator local to me. That could modify the flat bed. I am looking for a 12 footer![]()
Most 1 ton dually's and 450's you see running around with 12ft flatbeds have too much overhang behind the axle to mount a gooseneck properly unless you do something like powerstroke444e said and lop off some of the body and frame, in effect using a long wheelbase truck for a short body. You want the hitch at or slightly in front of the rear axle and your current GN trailer probably doesn't have enough reach to work on the typical 12 foot flatbed installation.
