Flipped the trailer the other week. Originally I tried with the forks but it was too much weight too far forward. I dropped the attachment and lifted directly off the arms with no problem

Spent Saturday doing some small chores like fixing the tool box lids, building a chain rack and a small parts tray in the tool box. The lid hinges were never greased and were seized solid. Ended cutting them off and replacing them. Took us three hours to get them aligned correctly! Had to cut the tacks three times before we got everything aligned correctly.
We also added a few replacement deck fasteners where the OE ones had broken off. McMaster had some 5/16” self threading bolts that were an exact match for the factory ones.

Painting is complete! Gosh it felt good to finish. The two of us spent 6 hours on Saturday painting the head and bed rails.

Sunday I rebuilt the ramps. I used 1.5x3x3/16” tube for the rails. The cleats are 2.5”x3/16”L that I salvaged from the old ramps. The trailer hook is 4”x3/8” L that I cut down so the vertical leg measures 1.25”. I wended the hook on top of the tubes so I’d have a stronger connection. Of course, now they don’t fit in the ramp pocket! Just barely hits a cross member leaving about 3” of ramp sticking out. It’s so close I might just let it go. Having the last cleat exposed does provide a nice hand hold.

Looking good. It will be interesting to see how it tracks after the straightening and whether it eats tires. Is there a way to align the axles? I have one tire on my 10K equipment trailer that gets uneven wear and I'd love to be able to fix that.

There really isn’t a good way short of cutting the hangers off. If it’s just one tire, that might be indicative of a bad bearing, rim or axle.

Replaced the equalizers because I assumed the bushings were shot. I couldn't get the cotter pin out of one the bolts so I cut a groove and ground the pin out. When I removed the equalizer, I was surprised to see the spring pads were worn flat. Originally these would have been triangular in shape. The equalizer bushing had this strange crack and I realized the crack was actually due to it wearing through.

In my opinion, buying a used trailer is almost always a BAD idea!

Got the electric finished up. New LED mini marker lights. I put three lights on the fender so I could better see it when turning. I added a solar panel to always keep the battery charged. I also used junction boxes for the wire connections. The lights are two fold. The smaller ones are wired to the back up circuit. The larger ones are wired to the constant power circuit. This light is to help with night loading. I added a switch inside the tool box to control them.

On my 20' trailer I wired in a 4 pin female connector so I can plug in some magnetic tail lights for those long loads. I figured it wouldn't hurt to do the thing again. The plug wire is a coiled cord I bought off eBay. I was setup for the round pin connectors found on big rigs, but I changed it out for a 7 pin flat plug. I've used these cords before and have been very satisfied with them. The cord doesn't run on the paint, drag on the ground or pull out of the plug when turning.
