xskier looking good with the plow!
Did you disconnect the top portion of your ROPS?

Since I am fairly new to tractors I remind myself to put up my ROPS each time I use the tractor even if I'm just working in front of my garage.

Yep. I removed the top half. I'm comfortable with the tractor and my property, but not complacent. When summer comes around, and I start doing more FEL duties, it'll go back up.

Very nice video for a cellphone, "what kind is it?". Also liked the broom video, I have been thinking about getting one of those too.

So far it looks like your best results were with the rearblade and the broom, great to be able to watch this stuff in action. Sure helps to decide what is best to buy.

Thanks.

I use my iPhone 4 to capture the action. Many say that it is not really the pinnacle of phones anymore, but I sure like it.

When I was researching which new tractor I wanted to buy I spent alot of time on YouTube, trying to get a feel of how each different tractor and attachment would operate. After being severely disappointed in videos of shaky hand held from the operator, or time lapse, or after the work is done, I knew it was my duty to show the real uncut version. I try to specifically show all angles if the machine and attachment while it's working. I like to see how the operator is manipulating the controls and how fluidly and efficient the machine works. I just hope it will make it easier for the next guy to make his decision.

I know that if there was "real" snow depths, the vids wouldn't be so short, but I can only work with what is available. I've got a ton of box blade and FEL work to do in the spring, so I will post up more adventures of the R and it's attachments when the time comes.

The iPhone 4 shoots great video.

So after experimenting with several methods and implements, what's your favorite for snow removal using the 1026R?

BTW, what size is that rear blade?

Thanks for the quick reply, I plan to build a couple of new attachments for my x749 soon which should work well with your 1026R. I will post some pics when this happens.

The rear blade is an old 72" hand me down. I had planned on cutting it down to 60", but I think I'll leave it alone for now. As far as a preferred method, it really depends on the conditions. If there were to be over 6" of snow I feel the 54" front blade would be best. For 2" to 6" I like the 72" rear blade and FEL combo. The broom vid was in quite wet conditions, and worked nicely to get clean concrete, no salt needed, I face the north. In unaired subsequent testing of the 52" broom, I've found that really dry snow creates a snow and dirt storm that will coat the entire machine. I had to wash "road grime" off from the ROPS, out of the cup holder, and basically the entire machine. Not too much fun carrying buckets of hot water from the house to splash her off when its 15 degrees out. I really prefer the JD quick attachment changeover over washing the machine when I'm done. So the broom is kind of in a holding pattern for now.

Jenkins, I really like that 60" psr you use, as I do have a fair amount of pine and cedar here. I'll look forward to what's next.
