Hi guys,

Longtime Deere user here thats decided to step up from a 345 54"mmm w/
powerflo and 48" Snow plow to a 3205 w/ FEL, 62" mmm and 54" front blade w/ front hitch. Now keep in mind this is a trade in quote and not a straight buy quote as I've read here many times. Just looking for a few good opinions and whether I'm better off getting a straight buy quote and selling the 345 outright. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated !

I will say I was expecting some discounting but found the trade was the only knock off the list pricing. I will be soliciting other quotes soon as I'm trying to take advantage of the current financing that is through Feb 1st.

Here are the figures:

2010 2305: $11,469

200CX Loader w/ ballast box + 53" bucket:$ 3,340.00

62c Mower: $2050.00

54" Hyd. angle blade w/ front hitch: $1415.00

Total: $18,274

Trade in: 1998 345 w/ 54" mower w/ power flo, 48" blade w/ chains: $3,274.00
346 hours

Subtotal: $15,000

Tax: $1,050.00

Total delivered: $16,050

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Hi Randi,
Welcome to TBN:)
Did you by chance look on JD's website and look and their MSRP's?
Everything that you listed is actually higher priced than MSRP,and that is not right at all!!
IMO,you need to look at another dealer/dealers and forget about this guy.
I would also consider selling your 345 outright. You might get a better price.
Just my .02:)
Greg

Randi,I just bought a 2520 with 200CX,62D MMM,and I-Match for 18 out the door. I just got a quote on the Front Hitch plow for 1200,so you're not getting a good deal at all.

Thanks for the welcome glc :)

Points very well taken my friend. I did go over to Deere.com, and after configuration came within 80 bucks if you include a $200 destination charge on the tractor. That did't include the upgrade to the 53" bucket but included independent lift and attachment kit for the mower which isn't included in the mower cost, as well as the diverter valve kit etc.

Point is, it's been apparent there is no discount going on here at all. Just the trade in value knocking it down.

I only have one other Deere dealer closeby, the rest are 100+ miles away.
I'll give them a try and report back.

I've been browsing dealers on the net, Mutton Equip.(Indiana) has a 2010 2305 w/ 200CX and mower advertised at $13,399. My fear is because there are only 2 dealers in this area that are about 40 miles apart, that they may not feel the need to discount as much(or at all) as in other areas of the country where there may be more competition. We'll see...

Any other opinions and feedback are warmly welcomed here.

Best regards,

Randi

Can't believe your old tractor would be difficult to craigslist. Selling one's stuff outright is almost always the better way to go. You can sell somewhere between the wholesale/trade in price and the dealer's retail price.

$500-$1000 extra bucks in your pocket wouldn't hurt you. How about some pix of your old machine?

It is a BUYERS MARKET out there, so shop around and you will save huge.
Don't get hosed because your local dealer feels thats what they want to do to you.

Ok, heres quote # 2, no trade-in. The only minor differences are I decided to stay with a 54" deck for my property, and using loaded tires rather than the ballast box;

2305 : $10,300

200CX Loader w/ 53" bucket: $2,850
Loaded tires

54C Mower w/ attachment kit: $1600.00

54" Front Blade w/ hitch : $1298.00
+hydraulic Angle

Total out the door: $16,048

If I can sell the 345 outfit on Craigslist for $3500, I'd be down to $12,550
on the purchase. This dealer is in a neighboring state so there is no tax.

I've got another quote coming in from a dealer my Mom worked for for 20 years(where the 345 came from, along with a 175 I still own) They offered me 0% for 60 months. I'll have tax on that quote which will be another grand at least. I'll be back later:)

Randi:D

In checking the discount, only looks like about 6.5% off MSRP.

If you are planning on using the full capacity of loader, I think you will need a ballast box or other heavy rear implement.

I can't really comment on anything except the 200CX with 53" bucket. Here are the specs for the tractor that I ordered last week:

2010 2320 with R4 tires
iMatch Quick Hitch
Forward Lighting Kit
Brush Guard
$12,170.00

62D MMM with Independent Lift Kit
$2,450.00

JD 655 Commercial Tiller
$2,300.00

200CX Loader with 53" bucket and Hood Guard
$2,821.00

Frontier Middlebuster
$259.00

Total: $20,000.00 + $1,400.00 tax = $21,400.00

It would seem that the loader/bucket price is a little high.
