Got a letter from Landservices saying we signed a mineral rights lease but didn't?

If this turns out to be a company buying up mineral rights, I would suggest getting a lawyer experienced in this area of law to read the contract before you sign. I would be concerned about getting paid what the resource was worth, increased payments over time, limiting access to my land, controlling said access if possible, make them liable for damages/issues, and making sure they pay to clean.

I am sure a good lawyer knows other ways to protect you.

Well. Turns out someone from within the city had signed the mineral rights lease in our names for the land on both sides of the street that are in my dads name.

The letter was for us to finalize the agreement. It was supposed to go to the one who forged the lease. But instead, (luckily) it landed in my mail box instead of theirs.

Good thing we took it to the courthouse, because they were set to clear this land by March.

I know the motive was to get our mobile homes removed. Because 2 days after a friend pulled this mobile home in here for me, a code enforcement officer (A friend of mine) came by to tell me that they wanted him to write us a fine for my mobile home and if we didn't have my mobile home a long with my parents mobile home removed in 2 months that the city was gonna get them removed on there own.

He said, he wasn't gonna bring us down like that. And eventually quit the job.

Today we put a stop to their plans. We also know the person behind the forgery. And he's about to land himself in Prison for a good while.

My parents mobile home has been sitting in the same spot for nearly 8 years without any problems. But when I moved mine in, they wanted them both removed. :confused2:

I tell you, this town is going to h e ll in a hand basket. I don't even socialize with many people around here because a lot of them are snobs and think their better than you. OH Well.

If you have problems with local or county law enforcement, try the state level. If the forger is in government, there might be other buttons to push. I would be talking with a lawyer for a lawsuit over something like this. To turn the heat on, after I talked to a lawyer, I would seriously consider the local TV and newspaper. They would LOVE this story. Talk to a lawyer first.

Chad,

That is a really rotten thing, sorry you and your Dad have to deal with it, but it sounds like you have it under control.

I do not normally like lawsuits for many things but in this case go for the mansion. If the person was a town official include the town in the lawsuit bankrupt the bas*ards
