Grapple Got a new grapple today for my cub cadet yanmar ex 450

I like the Modern equipment, this grapple, not the cheapest or most expensive looks nice to me.

I get fuel down the street from this dealer and drive through the lot from time to time, looks to be a good dealer and selling good equipment -- I'd buy from him and if I didn't already have a cheapo grapple(still does a GREAT job), I'd seriously consider a galvanized Modern unit.

It's a Versatech, sold at most of the equipment auctions around here, but it was only $175 less than the Modern, if I could do it over or if I'd know about the Moderns I'd have paid the extra, theirs just looks stouter(weight has its advantages AND disadvantages).

But......if you have a heavy grapple, you need a heavy girlfriend if you have no other way for counter weight!:laughing:

In general, lift capacity of grapple is the same as with a bucket minus whatever the difference in weight of grapple minus bucket weights.

That stated, most of the time the issue with something like brush is how much you can cram into the grapple. With stumps and logs you might exceed the lift capacity of the loader but with brush that is almost never the limiting factor.
