should be good-old ...sorry.

I live about 16 miles from where the Indian's where made. Then again about 5 to 6 years ago they suckered more people into starting them up again...They again failed...A little too late.

My first bike was a "chopper" in that it was an HD, and it had an extended fork and very loud pipes. It was orange (or maybe just very faded red) and had the foot clutch and hand operated shift. Seems I remember the gas being on the left handle bar instead of the right, and the footbrake was on the left pedal. Anyway, it had a nasty habit of dropping the kickstand sometimes.......one day I had pulled up to a stopsign at the top of a hill, as I started to turn left (the kickstand had dropped) and I bounced off the stand and right over onto the other side. There I was, all 120lbs of me, with the 500 lb bike laying on me, the hot pipe burning it's tattoo into my leg (it was summer, and I was wearing shorts), and the whole time the bike is still chugging away at idle. I'd still be there today except the guy in line behind me saw what happened and jumped out of his car and pulled the bike off me!

It also had the habit of sailing me thru the air over the handlebars sometimes when I tried to kick start it!

I bought a Suzuki X6- Hustler after that, 250cc and 6 speed gearbox, weighed all of 250 lbs too, something a little more my size!

We were in Sturgis for bike week in '95. We were camped at Tilford Gulch, and decided to go in to town for breakfast. So, we ride in, and go to a pancake breakfast at the Grange Hall. They did a decent breakfast; egss pancakes bacon oj java ect.

Well, at the back of the room were these nice old ladies, guessing 70's-90's. They had the prettiest hand sewn patch work quilt you ever saw(my Grandma made some darn pretty ones). There they are, selling raffle tickets to these bikers as they ate breakfast. We followed a few in. Some were RUB, some where hardcore on old Pan/hard tails, and some just average folk like us. They had these guys buying tickets for that raffle by the dozens. It was just a hoot to see!

Ok... one more. Again, Sturgis, 1995. We're camped outside of Sturgis. This guy, in his 30's probably, and his Dad, in his 70's or there abouts pull up.

The son unloads a full dresser with a side car from a trailer. Then he disconnects the trailer, and starts setting up camp. Meanwhile, his Dad is doodling around camp, moving around slowly with the help of a walker. He's geting around, but not easily for sure.

Son turns to see what Dad is doing. He says "Dad, wait up; we gotta set up camp!". Good luck! Dad had used the walker to get to the bike. He got next to it, and moved from the walker to the bike. He climbed aboard. Then he grabbed the walker, got it folded up, and stuck it in the side car.

Next thing, the bike fires, Dad drops it in gear, and guns it, peeling out in the grass. Over his shoulder you could hear him tell his son" I'll be back later; I'm going to town!". Off he went! The son shook his head, and all of us just busted up laughing!

A few hours later, here comes dad, grinning...
