He got his sign all right! He even wanted me to call the dealer and tell them what a nice guy he was. Well I talked to the dealer this morning and they appoligized up one side and down the other. Said he was a last minute independant haul because my unit was the only one going to florida. I still like the dealer!

I Enjoyed your post, I am close to buying a GC2310TLB myself. This would be a huge upgrade from my old gas fed MTD lawn tractor that weighs under 700lbs. My one concern is the how well a 2500lb tractor would fare on soft boggy ground, which I have a lot of depending on the weather. You mentioned the weight differences in your post so I am curious what expeiences you had with this. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks.

Meanwhile, I plan to rent a JD 4000 series (not much choice in rentals) to see how it does in the soft stuff.

You could always use your MTD in those spots when they're like that.

This spring, I drove through some pretty wet spots on the lawn and left ruts. I have a 2300 so there was not even the extra 1500 lbs of backhoe. My advice is to always remove the backhoe because it weighs as much as the tractor.

What good would that do when your tractor with out the BH still left ruts?????????
The BH don't weigh as much as the tractor.
The bh on my BX23 is only around 600 Lbs. so I doubt that the 2310 bh weighs over twice as much as mine.

I stand corrected. The BH weighs 791 lbs. I figured out my mistake. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I took the gc2300 (1367 lbs) and subtracted it from the gc2310 (2597 lbs). It must be the extra weight of the reinforced gc2310 frame. So...The gc2310 is 1230 lbs Heavier than the gc2300.

In light of all this, shed the backhoe, it will lighten you by 791 lbs and reduce your risk of ruts. If all else fails, mulch it. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thanks to all for the input. I do plan on keeping the MTD for its manueverability in cutting grass around the house/trees it has a 60" deck. The 2310TLB would be taking on landscaping/snow removal tasks mostly, I don't plan on using it for cutting grass mainly because of the turf damage it might do. I didn't ask-but it sounds like the 4wd does the job when it comes to not getting stuck. My F-150 leaves ruts AND gets stuck! of course it doesn't have AG tires or a differential lock...

1 That's what I use my Wards PowerCraft MTD for.
2 I mow most of my yard with my BX23.Turf damage hasn't been an issue and I mow with the FEL & BH attached and have the AG tires.
3 Isn't your truck a lot heavier than your 2310?

4. Bottom line-I won't know how a real tractor will handle the local soil conditions until I try it out, I have to rent a JD for that. Hopefully all goes well with the test drive over the weekend...
3. Yes the truck is a lot heavier at 4500lbs or so, of course the tire tread/size comes in to play as far as how they sink or swim in the boggy parts.
2. My name ain't SwampKing for nothin! Parts of my land can get boggy with a lot of rain-adding and grading some fill is a large part of what I want the 2310TLB for. That aside I've gotten the MTD stuck too but it is 2WD, turf tires and most of the weight is up front. Sounds like you have no problems with your Kubota. My buddy with a JD 2210 thinks I'll be fine with 4wd.
1. me too.
