Down here their running gear is considered premium and thats my only exposure to their products. Given that, I figured the rake had to also be pretty good. Id been looking at euro rakes but the HR10 is built much heavier + the price was right + its built here of mostly domestic parts.

This w/e I was going to finish servicing it and also planned to set it up and run it under power. Ill post another pic of it in that configuration.

I have three Pequea kicker wagons (2 9x18's and 1 8x18), one is on a Pequea 806 gear. There are a lot of Pequea tedders around here also.

It just dawned on me that they are the same company that make the chippers that my local Kioti dealer carries.

In the process of servicing the rake I removed the walking beams so theyd take grease and it turns out that bearing is bronze sleeved. Not sure how common that is among implements but I suspect its only present on better gear. Anyway, the rake operates well and all thats left is to make final field adjustments.

I had a chance to compare my older rake w/ the newer mdl and theres a world of difference. The newer rakes contain considerably less steel and are somewhat more comparable to Kuhn and most of the euro rotary rakes in that regard although not quite so light. The new mdl is sort of a mixed bag in my view. The pluses are simpler main frame w/ less moving joints, the tine arms have 2 leverage points w/ the gear box arm stub and the tines seem (just to my eye) like theyd be more efficient. The minuses are less steel, shorter walking beam and gear box tilt adjuster on top (completely exposed to the weather/dirt/damage).

I also saw the Pequea tedder for the first time and theyre really nice, very heavily built compared to all other tedders Ive seen.

I added a couple pictures of my rake unfolded.

Yep, IIRC I paid just a bit more than $3000.

Thanks for the info, that seems like a very good price compared to a couple of other HR10's I have seen advertised.
Good Luck with it.

On my way back to the office from lunch and taking the dogs out a semi passed right in front of my house with a couple of Pequea trailers and two of these TT4000's on it. Jim was right when he said to check out the Pequea rakes/tedders cause they looked NICE. There is a dealer just over the MD line from me so assume that is where he was coming from.

I also found their 2008 price list on line, fyi . . . I'm not sure that is suppose to be out there as it is linked from a dealer section of the website.
