Good Afternoon JPRambo,
Disassembly some more sanding and some urethane......
Beautiful job on the credenza ! I have been building furniture for years and really enjoy it ! A sawmill would be great, but probably won’t get one at this stage in my life !

A few of my many projects !

Enjoy your mill time !

Beautiful work.
I wish that I had the time, skills and tools to do that kind of work.

Scott_vt -

Really fine - top grade furniture. The patience of Job - the wisdom of a genius - the skills of a true artisan.

Scott, your table looks close to mine. My table was inspired by a similar one at a winery in Oregon. Took pictures of it and sized it accordingly.

More chairs are in the plans. Just using school teachers desk chairs for now. All knotty pine, top is 1 5/8" thick. 44" wide x 74" closed, 98" with leafs. Bread board ends pull out for 12" leafs. Bench weighes over 100 pounds. Chair is also pine. I made a cherry chair for my grandson. Cherry was cut from their home. I want a cherry chair. Other chairs would be oak and maybe ash or maple for my table. Jon

Good Morning Jon,

Beautiful piece you have there Jon ! Very nicely done and will be used for generations!

The table I show in the photo is one that I built for my oldest son. It is made of white oak and is 9 ft long 42” wide with a 1 3/4” thick table top ! It takes 4 guys just to carry the top ! 😉 After I made that table my youngest son wanted one that was a little bigger ! 😀 So the best table was 9 ft 2” long ! My sons are very competitive, as you can see !

I’m in the process of making 2 black walnut sculptured rockers for my grand daughters now ! A long range project for sure ! 😀
Beautiful work Jon ! 🙏

I took 2 slabs and jointed them and left them a bit rough. All done by hand , no jointer just a circular saw, plane, sander. Unfortunately I was in a time crunch and had to buy legs rather then weld them up myself. About 7 feet long. Ash from trees (dead ones) that I felled. Chainsaw mill.

I just love and appreciate well made furniture. Great job!

Its on my bucket list to build some great pieces for our children/grandchildren. Those heirlooms are priceless.

We have many pieces that were handed down to us from grands/great grands that are very special to us.

Thanks Scott. Ken, sometimes simple is best. I like the fact you basically used hand tools to make your table. The winery table I followed was a rough table. Probably passed down from when it was all hand tools.

Sorry HH for stealing your thread. Jon
