TC33D
Well, got a pleasant suprise yesterday around noon, the dealer called and said the tractor was on it's way! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Put about an hour on it mowing grass and it works great. No problem with the hills, just have to watch out for a couple of low areas where the ground is still soaked. I expected the new tractor to make a significant cut on my mowing times, but as you can see from the pics, it's working even better than I expected /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

OK, enough of the silly stuff - time to pass on a BIG thanks to everyone on TBN for sharing their experience, wisdom and advice about selecting, equipping, and purchasing a tractor. You all are great and the help was (and will be in the future) very much appreciated.

Regards,

Chuck

Chuck, it'll work fine the way it is in the pictures, but I'll bet if you take the FEL off to mow, you'll like it even more; smoother ride, better visibility.

Just don't let her figure out how to work the FEL, or you won't get any seat time at all! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Congratulations on a nice machine!

Well, it may have been a mistake, but I already showed her how the FEL control works. But - I took the loader off today, so she won't get to practice with it!!

Bird, thanks for the suggestion on removing the FEL. Was already planning to do that - read the owners manual(s) last night at work. Hope putting it back on is as easy as taking it off. Have some nice concrete blocks for weight right next to the bucket just in case I need something to hold it in place when I try to put it back on.

Regards,

Chuck

Excuse me, but it looks like your front grill guard is on upside down /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

There's no grill guard on the tractor to be upside down.. The U-shaped piece forms a stand for the FEL when it's removed.

Oh. Sort of a goofy design isn't it? I haven't seen one in person but it sure looks like it is just waiting to smack a rock or root hanging way down there. Maybe is is just the way the picture was taken...

I haven't hit one yet. Haven't read any messages on TBN of this happening either. While I have not measured it to know for sure, I don't think it hangs down too much farther than the front differential.

Your bio doesn't indicate what kind of tractor you have. Does your tractor have a grill guard or a FEL? If so, how does yours handle the stand issue?

Sold my JD4600 /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif memorial day weekend. It just unhooked using the joystick and stood up by itself on it's arms. Very slick. Hook the hoses back up and it would lift itself back on the tractor.

Here is shot of the grill guard. If you look closely, you can see a ding or two in the guard.

Bummer! What are you going to replace it with? I like the stand solution JD has.

The New Holland stand was just like that at one time! Then the engineers did a redesign!
