I cannot understand for the life of me why people want higher taxes, higher cost of living, increased crime and less freedom. Those are the fools I refer to. The Shannon Sharpe and millionaire+ group, yeah they have a different reason, kind of like a big middle finger pointed at people like us. $20 fuel means nothing to them, not to mention $5 fuel
Because with higher taxes and higher cost of living they can live in neighborhoods where crime is considerably less. Keeps the 'riff-raff' out. Pretty simple.

The elites can. Easily. Without any problem at all....

Shannon Sharpe (Multi-Multi Millionaire): " “I’d rather pay 20 bucks a gallon than have Trump in office,”

And people like him ain't shirtin' around. They're serious as dogs copulating.

Can you pay $20 a gallon for fuel? He can. You can't. I can't.

What matters is that -- They can. That you can't doesn't concern them at all. Not in the least. Not even a little bit. So they would rather see you starve or lose your job, your wife, your family or whatever, just so they don't have to tolerate an obnoxious man (he is) being mean to them and/or sending mean tweets to their pals.

"Just go buy an electric car!" Know who said that? Bootyjudge, the new transportation secretary who took a LOT of time off during the Covid debacle, while our transportation system was in tatters, to spend time with his husband and newly adopted twins...

That's our transportation secretary telling people barely getting by to go buy an electric car for -- What? Minimum $31k (and it's junk, trust me) up to a $55k average for a decent one.

This is not political (although it is the Usual Suspects [as usual]), it's about Elites who just simply don't care about you.

At all. Not even a little bit.

They pretend to. Especially during elections but the truth is -- You're just Lumpen-Proletariat (or worse) to them.

You can't unscramble an egg, people
You've got to expect that from somebody born with a silver spoon. Buy an electric car or ride a bicycle. No in between.

Sometimes it also relates to the quality of schools as well.

True. Especially public education. When we were looking for property, well before cell phones and free long distance calling, a piece of property with a South Bend phone number but NOT in the South Bend public school district commanded a significantly higher price.

Not so much with Catholic schools around here, though. There are about 16 k-8 and 2 high schools, plus one 8-12 school in the immediate area. The Catholics have it down as far as organization goes. Even have their own sports league, the ICCL. Inter City Catholic League.

There are only about 16 public k-5, 9 middle schools, and 4 public high schools in the same area.

Curiosity got the best of me.

We used to live in a different development down the road from this one about 18 years ago (my wife bought her house when she moved down, I was still thinking I was going to be a tumble weed for work, that is until I met her).

Honestly, I much like our older development vs this newer one. Houses we're at least further apart, and seem more "custom built" to what the people actually wanted to build vs cookie cutter homes. Only thing our older development didn't have was a sidewalk (never a problem walking the dog or going for a run when we did live there).

There has to be a market...

Never knew that Shugart is a part of Mungo homes.

And this is why I wanted to take a drive down this new road for curiosities sake...

I was curious as to what you can "get" starting in the low 400k price range.

I'll be danged if I'm spending 400k on a home and get vinyl siding...

I'm just grateful that although my wife and are two different people and personalities, when it comes to important decisions in our lives, we really think a lot alike. Once we got married, we both knew we were moving to a more open area (my only pre prerequisite was being able to pee and shoot in the yard and not have to worry about neighbors LOL).

You don't need a tractor at any of those places. Where do you put your pole barn?

Yep. There's about 4-5 designs. They can flip and mirror them to make about 8-10 designs. Add brick or stone or siding to get 24-30 different looking houses out of those original 4-5 designs. But when you look closely, they're all pretty much the same. Here, the setbacks from the property line are about 12'. That's the wall. If there's an overhang, the structures get down to about 20' apart. It used to be a 5' setback so you'd have about 10' between houses.

These clowns have never heard of straw? If thats the red clay I think it is, its going to stain the siding and lick & stick stone pretty bad. Garage floor concrete, too.
