Gotta dream vehicle? Here\'s mine...

I admit I have Unimog on the brain.

Also got to admit I will never own one as they are overpriced for my blood.

The one in the attached picture was for sale at around $18,000. It is about 30 years old...parts are hard to find and expensive.

Still, these are wonderful machines! Tractors breeded with trucks in truth. Front and rear PTOs available, 24 speeds, and so on...

I too like unimogs but could never justify buying one! I just appreciate the engineering in them, and off-roading ability!

Unimog is a real work horse nobody's going to argue that. And it is a very interesting looking ride.

My dream vehicle? Probably the H-2 Hummer, in yellow of course. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif That's style.....

Mine would be the original Hummer. I don't know if you realize this, but the H-2 is just the big GMC SUV (don't recall the name) with a different body.

Actually, since my wife and I are Rockhounds, the HMEE would be better. (see attachment) Shovels, we don't need no stinking shovels!!!

Bill, You too! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I just started my search for a mid 80's 406 Doka (crewcab) to convert into a van (see attached photo of one done) Or a 416 Doka with 3-way dump box. Must have disk brakes and will add fast axles if it does not already have them. To see a lot of them got to unimog photos I hope to find one by this spring or summer. It will make a great project for my son and I to do together. Plus if he drives anything like his sister, he will need it! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I can't live with just a single dream vehicle, I need a dream fleet:

Weekends - Unimog (good taste Henro)
Daily Driver (summer) - Austin Mini Cooper
Daily Driver (winter) - Flat fendered Jeep
Towing - F350SD4X4CCSBPSD6spd
Evenings - Jag of some sort
Shuttling kids - Chrysler Pacifica (drove one the other day, nice car!)
Work truck - Military 2 1/4 ton 6X6 (would look great parked next to the Unimog)
Play car - Viper (have driven, pure fun)
Project vehicle - Divco Milk Truck
