Re: Gotta dream vehicle? Here\'s mine...
Henro, I recently met a woodworking chap across the river who did some work for me.
In his yard were the following:
1. Ford 8n
2. Ford 2n
3. Massey 2n (looked like an 8 n)
4. Old Case 555D
5. Think (a pure plastic bodied concept car running on pure electricity .. a GM/Euro pilot program. Participants in the Pilot even got there very own parking space with charge outlet at the commuter train station)
6. 1929 Chevrolet 3/4 ton pick-em up (friend asked him to store it for him 15 years ago ... it's his now.)
7. A Unimog.
The Unimog was exported to him from Germany in the 80's as a dealer demo from a group that was trying to establish a Unimog retailer in New England. The dealership never came to fruition, but they told him he could keep the vehicle. He says he can still get any part he needs from a shop in California.
I did see a Uni on eBay recently. It was configured as a communication platform repleate with a lot of dated communication gear still in the rear cabin.
Lastly, as a small boy with a decent Matchbox collection, I suddenly remembered that the Uni was one of em. This goes a way way back. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
