GPS and laser leveling for small irrigated plots.

I think what you describe will work. It will take some work to get it setup and dialed in. The person I work with that does field tile had a similar setup for his tile plow. If you want to go cheap, just use the receiver as a guide and don't hook it up to your hydraulics. For what you describe, I don't think you need a setup for each side of the blade.

As usual , while I am pecking away on this keyboard the situation has been explained . All you need is one receiver on center of box . This does bring back some memories . I worked for a farmer out east of Roswell . He had a plane made out of wood I used to drag around with a 4010 . This thing was about 15 x 40 and worked that old tractor pretty hard .

Kevin, think Pichacho area and you would be close.

Dave, I think it would be a real pita to try to keep the blade adjusted by hand all day long. I am thinking that machine cortrol is important whereas gps is not.

About the boxblade setup I am thinking I can pickup an IMatch hitch and weld a tongue on it for the tow hitch and add some wheels and running gear to the back. Willl also consider buying a separate tow type boxblade and keep them separate. Much prefer this method since with several tractors two can be used at once to move dirt and rough in.

You definitely want to spend the money on machine control . It will drive you nuts trying to keep up with those flashing lights . I'm sure you know when they flash high or low you're only talking a 1/16" . Am I close on describing what you are trying to do ? Don't you have an X7xx DEERE also ?' When are you going to start leveling , I'll be there I'm bored to death .

Kevin.
Just got back from looking at the first project, about thee acres to spruce up and smooth out. Needs about 500' of 12 inch pipe and ditch first with a few gates and boxes built up. Looks like the perfect sized job to start out on. Hopefully can start in a week or so. This job will not require laser leveling just the new pipe install and smoothing and reseeding the pasture. I do have the x749, 4520, 110tlb and 820 to use for these jobs.

I think my existing laser and equipment can handle this job with ease.
