Actually there is a lot of water where I go wheelin, but the dark spots you see on the maps is groves of Pines in amongst birch and other trees. There really is no lakes other than beaver ponds.

You can mess around that web page to get an idea of the area. It is private land but tree harvestors do go in there.

When there click on Wheelin, then in the middle of the page you will see "some favorites" Thats me in the middle of the hole.

Sorry to respond so late, just saw this thread today. Blame it on High traffic.

Check out Map Tech They have products for PC's Pocket PC's & Palm pilots. Looks like the PC version of Terrain Navigator may do what you want. Not sure about the Palm version. You can download a free demo.

The proffesional version of terrain navigator Pro Navigator will definitely do it, but it is $299

Derek,

Spent a lot of time messing with ExpertGPS this week-end and I think it is the program for me. I like all aspects except for you can't save the map to a file (.jpg). You can print screen and then paste it in a picture editor but you loose a lot of quality.

The other thing I don't like is I have a whole mess of waypoints in a 2 mile squared area and the waypoints on the map overlap each other so you can't see the one under the top one.

Other than that it is pretty flexible and easy to use. Well worth the money I believe. Will probably get it next week or so.

Now I just have to clean up all the other programs on my computer that I have tried in the last month.
