That's the one that still triggers an involuntary knee jerk with me, Bird. (Keep in mind I was raised by a language teacher, and I had to learn the rules.) I mostly see it on TV, where, say, some Harvard-educated political yahoo is trying to impress us with his lofty speaking abilities. "It was the best thing for my wife and I", or "there's no reason the focus should have been on my partner and I".

When I was finally old enough to speak to Mom more or less as an equal, I used to delight in deliberately using a preposition to end a sentence... with. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Nowadays, I just have fun with words. Speaking plainly and correctly is just plain boring. As we've observed on this forum, folks understand what you're saying jes' fine, as long as what yer sayin' makes any sense at all. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
