Grand 30 engine question

Will an engine from a HST L5030 fit in a HST L3130? I have an opoportunity to buy a new 5030 engine at a good price if it will fit my l3130.

Just my GUESS, is no.

The frame sizes are different, and the extra cyliner of the 5030 would make a tight space even tighter.

If you have the ability to weld on a few more inches of frame and re-work the hood it could be done. But that would start to be a big task and time consuming.

I am sure that a dealer would be able to answer that question, well thier mechanics could answer that.

You'd also have to consider the flywheel and bell housing. Sometimes these are interchanable. But a bigger engine usually means bigger everything else, especially when starting out small.

Thanks for the quick responses. I guess $3000 for a new, complete L5030 engine is only a bargain if I have a L5030.

That might be why it's for sale cheap. It's rare to work on any kubota products that aren't ten plus years old. We have found that at twenty we will start seeing them for small things for sure but it is rare to work on an engine. It is rare to work on an engine, other then from operator error.
