Not a dumb question at all. There are currently four attachments (I think) for the front.

1) Snowblower
2) Rotary Sweeper
3) Flail Mower
4) Front Blade

I got because it will serve as a great tie down point for the front and double as a chain pull instead of putting hooks or eyes on my bucket.

That pallet on the land plane looks like a thong and I am having trouble imagining what the point is -- I think the implement is there to protect the pallet!

I think the old 40 series You couldn't have the front hitch on at the same time as the loader towers so that is a nice improvement.
