Although that log was over 18' long, and that tree was right next to the PT, in one maneuver I was able to back clockwise around the tree and drive off to the right of the picture without lowering the log!</font>

BTW, I noticed that your 422 has what appears to be "normal" garden tractor wheels with the four holes needed to mount wheel weights or dual wheel adapters, that I mentioned earlier...

PS: I'd go for a new PT-425! They are not that expensive, when you consider the amount of money that you are investing in this land and house, and the amount of work, and fun, you'll be using the PT for, its price will be a tiny % of that total investment!!

I was hoping you'd "weigh in" with all your PT 425 tree handling experience. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif So, if I read this correctly, you're saying a 425 (especially a new one with the stronger wheel motors) will handle these slopes OK?
Though I'm prepared to do so now, I don't want to go back to the Minister of Finance later and say I've made yet another mistake! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

<font color="red"> Of course, I can not offer a guarantee, but I am sure that a PT-425, particularly with Grapple Bucket and Bar Tires on Reversed Wheels can run circles around your Tiny Kubota B6000 4WD with B206 FEL, up, down, or across slopes, laughing all the way!!
In fact, the PT may be able to handle more than you want to try!! It is also much safer, and much more forgiving, if you do try to take on more than you should!

Well, Rich PMed me this morning that he has decided to sell his PT 425... I called and left a message with him, trying to set up a time to go see it (perhaps this weekend), since he's only about an hour or so south of me....
With the price increase that went into effect today on new PTs, that makes a used machine look more attractive, assuming it's in good condition....

PS: I know what it is like working in the woods with a small CUT. My '76 Power King is a little larger, heavier, and more powerful than your B6000, but 2WD and no FEL. I did a lot of things with it, and still use it for mowing, but compared to the PT-425, it was like going from cutting wood with a hatchet to using a chainsaw!! On slopes and in the woods, like going from a cow to a goat!!
