Got this last fall and used it quite a bit already . Dug up some smaller stumps and moved quite a few logs around.

When I was looking they were a couple of months out. The 50% interest free loan to them was one reason I went with an MTL, and had it a week later. In ten years of working for myself I never had anybody pay me for work before I completed it, and never even considered asking.
That part I can certainly understand. I don't fully understand it either as very few things they or any tractor attachment company manufactures is a custom one off item. So even if said customer backed out or magically didn't have funds at time of shipment they could just roll it to the next order.

Gets you locked in. You can do a lot of rethinking in 12 weeks and there are lots of things that might make you change your mind. They can do it because it is like a popularity contest and right now they are on top.

EDIT: They do have good product though but so do others.

You've received some very solid information from a lot of stalwarts on TBN with years of experience.

The discussion could go on for another 500 posts...with possibly some new insight provided, but most likely it will be more of the same at this point.

At the end of the day, it matters not to anyone on the forum what you buy...only you!!!

So go and order what-ever you think will work for you...

Regarding payment upon order...I think it is actually somewhat typical - whether it's McDonald's, Amazon or EA.

The rub is that it takes EA 12 weeks to deliver their happy meal.

It's really only a minor inconvenience for something you'll use for the next 25 years.

Maybe PM Mr. BuckeyeFarmer to see if he wants to sell his grapple...that might be a quick answer!

I suspect you'll be ecstatic with what-ever you get and 6 months from now, you will be contributing your views to the next guy seeking information!

Good Luck, and hope you receive enjoyment from using whatever you purchase!

I completely agree with you. I have gotten some great opinions, advice and it has gotten me to reconsider some of my initial choices. About the only question I have left is about the trade off of weight vs working capacity. My Branson 3620 has about a 6000+ lb weight and claimed 2700 lb FEL lift. I initially was thinking to go with something light weight like the ~300 lb EA unit but there are some equivalents from other manufacturers in the 600-800 lb range.

Any opinions on reduced performance using a heavier unit or is it likely I will not really notice the difference?

Bruce.
