Grass Pit

/ Grass Pit #31
Excellent project for composting, however I tackled it in a slightly different manner:- I went out and bought a B7100 with a front loader!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif, now when I want to pile up the cuttings I play on the tractor for about few minutes and just heap it up. It is also easier to dig out the heap with a FEL . At the end of the year I turn the first heap into a second heap which rots down over the next year ready to spread around the garden and remake the first heap with the new cuttings. Altogether more fun I can assure you and a good excuse to buy a tractor with FEL attached!

Even without a FEL, I suspect you could turn the pile a bit with a pitchfork, just working from the side openings.

But all in all, it certainly is a high digit effort. And now you're adding a roof? With just a bit more work you could probably add an enclosure with an electric hook-up. Then get a TV, fridge, recliner lounger -- and you'd have your very own grass pit retreat. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Just don't tell the wife what you're up to. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
