Gravel driveway dust

Mosey, regarding my previous message on the ammonia in urine I got that from a vet. Years and years ago when I had a cat and it was getting real old and sick it would occassionally use a particular corner in the basement as a kitty box. I thought I would be real smart and completely scrub the area with huge amounts of ammonia to "ward" off the cat. The cat continued to use that area (only peeing) until she was finally euthanized due to her illness. I asked the vet about keeping the cat away from the area and he said that I was just making it more attractive for the cat due to ammonia in the urine. I was actually making things worse. Good luck!

StanleyinMd - Thanks for that explanation. I'll be taking both cats (kittens? still less than 1 year old) to the vet soon to get spayed and neutered. I'll asked them if they agree with what your vet said. Actually, if it's just urine, I can live with that. I sure am looking forward to being rid of them for a day!

So many cats, so few recipes.
If you are close to a pavement recycler, I would reccomend that you spread an inch or two down when it gets warm. It will set up almost like pavement again for a lot less money.

Letting the cat out of the bag, so to speak, there is a product called Liquid Fence, made by a company in Pennsylvania that will keep your cats away from anyplace.
It's designed to repel deer and rabbits primarily, but I can assure you, Cats detest this stuff.
I must caution you, when first applied, this stuff would gag a maggot off a manure wagon, but after drying for about 15 minutes the aroma isn't perceptable to humans.

Hmmm... looks like an interesting idea. I wonder how bad it smells and if it would linger in an enclosed area. I put a brand new tarp on my boat but cats can still get under the tarp in the rear where the tarp covers the outboard motor. I wouldn't mind putting one of those setups in my boat but would not want to stink up my boat or tarp. I also wouldn't mind putting a few around my truck to establish a "no cat" zone there, too! @#$%!! stray cats have scratched the paint from jumping up on it and leave tracks and hair on the roof and hood!

I don't know if I would do it in an enclosed area or not. I have no idea how flammable methylnoylketone is. I know the compound methylethylketone is flammable and dangerous to breathe.

I was wondering the same thing. I am familiar with methylethylketone but never heard of methylnoylketone...

I did a search in Google and came up with one result - shop.norge.cc - and the description was the same exact one as the description given at the above link. Did a search using Metacrawler and Yahoo and found nothing. Gotta wonder if there is such a thing as methynoylketone... maybe a misspelled word?

I was able to find "Get Off My Garden" in the TSC Blue Book, but when I went to the store in Seymour, IN they didn't have any. They had some other stuff called "Havahart Repellent", so I got some of that. It's supposed to last 10 days. I put some on and it does have a strong odor. The ground is frozen now though and they can't dig anyway, so I don't know if it really works or not. About 4 months ago, not being able to dig didn't seem to matter to them, they just went on top. But, now that they're older they seem to only want to go where they can dig and cover it up.
