Gravel - Driveway Question

That is a great publication on gravel roads. Printed out a copy for myself as some bedside reading. In a few weeks when the frost is out of the ground and the mud dries up some I will be dragging the box blade up and down to repair my driveway.

After reading that I'm wondering if I should look into a York rake also. Might be tough to justify though as I just got a rear blade for moving snow last winter - and I think I said something like I didn't need any more attachments when I got it.

Actually I did too and haven't figured out how to bring up the discussion about how I need ( I mean WE need) a rake with wheels or a box blade. Especially because WE need a bigger bathroom, new living room .... ... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Yeah, I learned a lot from that Maine camp road article, and I'm always glad to find another B7800 owner.

While no expert, I have tried everything on my gravel driveway.. I get potholes so bad I sunk the 1 ton 4x4 dump up to its rear axel in the mud of a pothole... dumped the whole 3 yards of crusher run I had on the back right there to get out & pushed it in the hole.. Hole came back.. Up here in the Northeast the solution generally used is laying down matting to keep the gravel from sinking into the clay underneath & dissappearing.. Least ways thats what we do in clay.... After laying down the matting the gravel no longer dissappers. I just find it pushed to the side after a winter of plowing but at least I know where it went /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
