Grease Fitting

Ck30 hst w/BH I need to replace a couple of grease fittings on my backhoe KB2375
What size are these fittings

I have a grease fitting on my backhoe that won't thread in straight and I must have stipped it trying to get it secured. Is there a self tapping 1/8 " P.T. replacement zerk available, Bob?

Have you tried a 1/8" pt tap? I have not seen a self tapping zirk fittings. I would try chasing the tread carefully with a tap to restore the thread. If not, you may need to drill it out and go to the next size zirk.

Sounds like a good job for one of these up and coming rainy days, Bob. I should be able to drive the cylinder pin out and simply run a 1/8" P.T. tap completely through the damaged empty zerk threads. After I run the tap, I'll keep the pin and bushed opening free of thread cuttings before I reassemble.

Gulp, why did'nt I think of that?(smile)

I've had 3 I've had to replace on my 2385 and none would thread without first cleaning up the threads. I tried several different zerks and they all needed work. Apparently, the factory uses something other than a good clean tap.

The nipple's on the factory zerks seem to be really fragile too.

Another post claims -They are a 10mm X 1mm taper thread grease fitting. When I looked at my 20HST, they indeed were European pipe thread.

The original poster was referring to his KB2375 Backhoe when he asked the question regarding replacing zerks.

I can confirm that the grease zerks in my kb2465 Backhoe use 1/8th Pipe thread. The CK20 zerks are metric I believe.
