Grease Guns

I bought a high quality gun last year called Megaboost and I really like it. The head is cast aluminum and it has a volume/pressure lever. If you have a fitting that won't take grease switch it over to pressure and so far it hasn't failed to clear any clogs. Get a 3' hose as that will allow much more maneuverability.

I've been pleased with my Megaboost. Bought it through Sears online... best price at the time.

My Kubota has a mix of metric & standard zerks :confused2: Found that out after I broke one when I was trying to replace it.

Grand L3940. The mix of metric & standard zerks is on the loader. Not sure (yet ) about the ones on the rest of the tractor.

I am wondering, will a ridgid tip or a lexible tip be better for the BX25. I guesss I will need ot look at each and every zerk and see whats up w/ that.

I got the Milwaukee 12V. It has been great. I have a tool truck that has zerks on the hinges. I had so much trouble geasing them I gave up. This 12V will get gease into every one of them. It has great pressure. It doesn't put much in per squirt so I don't feel it will damage anything. My2cents.

All I can add is that if you want to use bulk grease on the cheap, just remove the reservoir from the grease gun, stick the open end in the bucket, and draw the plunger back to suck up the grease. Lock the plunger, scrape the excess grease off, add some grease to the head to minimize air entrapment, and reassemble. Messy but it works. It takes a certain depth of grease to avoid sucking air.

WHAAAAAATT!! you mean I don't have to perform those moves when I change out my cartridge....I thought it was to get the grease primed

So after dinkin' around w/ 2 Harbor Freight units, and suffering 2 failuers I took this advice and bought a Lincoln Pneumatic. I added a strap that goes over my head and the unit lays at my waist giving me two hands to don and doff the hose with a rag in hand. Right or wrong it works great this way.
