Hi guys I have a stupid question. When I grease the nipples on my tractor loader some of the nipples come out when I pull back the grease gun. Is this a common problem or maybe I am doing something wrong. I know sometimes it is a struggle to get the gun to release the nipples and that is when they come out. Any suggestions would help greatly.
Thanks
Gilles

Likely press-fit grease nipples ... tap the hole with a pipe thread tap and replace them with threaded grease fittings.

You can go in at an angle with thin center punch and dimple the sides of the hole in three or four places. That is what I have done. Tightens up the clearance.

Agree. The hole was made too big and there is not enough press fit. By using the center punch the metal is pushed up to tighten the fit. The press fit should need to be tapped lightly on to insert them. They should not just slide in as I am guessing yours do as you replace them.

The other option is to ovalize the base fo the grease fitting a little but be very careful. Try Downsizing's idea first.

A lockNlube would work easier, wouldn't it?
I don't have one, but it's on my Christmas list.....

Do you know that the grease nipple chuck is two pieces and can be loosened so it can easily be detached. They are a bear sometimes to break the screw joint but they will unscrew. Just hold at each end at the knurled sites on the chuck and turn it counter-clockwise to break it apart. Once it is loose, you can move it by hand to adjust to each grease zerk (nipple) for proper seal and release.

Well guys I had a heck of a time taking the nipple off the grease gun tip. I used a pair of vice grips and man oh man she was a ***** to take off. I was afraid of stripping the grooves off. Maybe it is the tip of the grease gun. Funny I greased the nipples on my snow blower/quick attach with no problems till I did the first one the loader. Weird.
I did notice that the nipples on the loader are brass and the snow blower white metal. Would that make a difference.

Did you loosen the coupler per Gary's post (#6)? Many of us consider the overpriced (but well worth it) Lock-n-lube the best answer.

The LNL is great for hard to get at grease nipples where it would otherwise be a three handed job.
But I have had problems with the recessed nipples on the FEL arms because the LNL just barely fits in the recess. (With the KL135 FEL on my CK35 anyway).
Unless you thoroughly clean out the recess first, the outer sleeve on the LNL will not slide down to lock onto the nipple properly. Even after cleaning you sometimes have to push on the sleeve to get it to move and lock.
I think others have mentioned this on TBN as well. Not a reason to not buy one, but for me a disappointment when it cost me around $AU75 to get one from the US.:(

Thanks John for the info. I have the CK30 HST with the KL 130 which is probably the same as yours. I hope when I get the LNL that it works for me on the FEL. I bought mine through the U.S. which sold for 29.99 and by the time I get it home 45.00. If I have to change every nipples on the loader then I will cause like I mentioned before the one came out and was hard to get the nozzle to release it. Keeping my fingers crossed. I love my CK30 nice little work horse. Thanks.

So far I love my LnL coupler. It fits fine on my Kioti KL351 loader recesses. It really speed up greasing process and totally eliminates the frustration factor. Does it cost too much? Uh, yeah. Does it work? yep.

Ok update on LNL. Got it Yesterday and grease up my Husqvarna EZ turn mower and the thing works. Got to my Kioti KL130 loader and was thinking about someone saying it would not fit. I tried it and no problem on the first one then when I got to the second one it was sort of hard to clip on then I noticed the brass housing that the nipple sits in moved back a bit and the LNL fit in perfect. So now I know if the LNL does not go in I just wiggle the brass housing back and forth and it works. So I love this gadget and a good investment for me cause it cuts my greasing time quite condiderably and the grease go into the nipple not all over the place making a mess. So get one IMO it is worth it
