The ebay connection is the giveaway that this is a scam. Usually they want to use something called "ebay international" -- there is no such thing.

I think the cost alone would make me nervous 2003 L 3830 or whatever for $5000 ? A fel is that much.
I just the other day heard about someone locally sending money off for partial payment to hold a loaded up Jeep on craigslist.
Come to find out it was listed on eBay too and the guy who was selling it didn't even know it was being sold on craiglist until these folks did some research after the fact that the whole deal didn't smell right they ended up being out $4000.
That's where a fool and his money parted ways but that's my 2c.

Ya know, we laugh at stupid people doing stupid stuff on Youtube all the time, is it wrong to laugh at the stupid peeps that fall for this stuff? no :laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:
Exactly right I cant help myself but laugh at them they were business people to boot the parents of this guy!
The $4000 loss was in the process of being $9500 loss if not for my buddy who just happened to be standing there when they were negotiating the last payment over the phone and he said whoa he had heard about these scams.
The kid that was buying it was a vet just got back from the mid east and wanted a nice car they tried to get them to return the money since he was a vet but never heard from them again oh well.
Simple rules for dealing on Craigslist. Only respond to ads where the seller gives their phone number, when selling always insist on talking to the buyer on the phone. Always close the transaction or transfer money in person after examining the item to be purchased.
With these two rules Craigslist is safe, anyone doing otherwise is looking for problems.

I've sold a couple of things on Craigslist, never a problem, but people always came and picked them up. I can't imagine buying anything like a car or tractor without laying eyes on it first. My boss bought a car off e-bay, no problems and it was pretty much what he was expecting. Its just not for me.
