Should've got the 4-in-1 bucket, that one is black /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

I wish the official green paint came in pint or quart cans but the dealer told me it doesn't any more, I only got a choice of spray and gallon sized. I was going to get some aftermarket stuff but if it doesn't match exactly, what would be the point? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Wow you could do a lot of painting with a gallon!

Maybe one of those cool jobs they do at the auction
yard where they paint over EVERYTHING, hoses, grease,
rust, labels, knobs...

The tractors look nice, from about 300 feet away!

I've seen it at my dealership. Some guy just bought some Maybe he was out? The JD part number for green paint in a quart is TY6542. Hope this helps.

Actually, I think that the manual says something about cleaning the bucket and touching up the paint after every use...

The original factory paint job on my 410 FEL looks like it was done completely AFTER assembly. The hoses, plastic parts, some O-rings, and even some grease were covered by green paint. Also, where some of the bands that clamp the hydraulic pipes on have shifted slightly, you can see that there is no green paint underneath them.

I think that's a quickie dealer job. I saw some new tractors
(new as in not sold, not new as in made in the last 6 months)
and they were like that paint on the hoses, everywhere.

I don't know if it's harmful to paint over the hoses and
O-rings or not but is sure is tacky. (no pun intended)

Was this tractor purchased new? You might have a dealer
run the serial number and see when it was really made and
if it originally went to another dealer and sat sat sat.

I was at a dealer a month ago that had "new" 4200 4400
tractors that recently arrived. Those haven't been made
for 3 years.Still good tractors as long as you know what
you are getting.

Nope, that's not a dealer job it's factory. I had my boss order my 430 from the factory so I could set it up myself and it was painted on the hoses and such before I took it off of the pallet. If you look the newest 430 loaders come with black hoses and goldish hydraulic lines. I think JD changed the way they paint the loaders over in Canada. I noticed that I have to repaint one loader arm since I had to switch the hydraulic lines from one side to the other to work with the 990.

Yellowsocks.

Are you saying your loader is not painted where anything
is in the way, like the hydraulic lines or tubes?

The 420 I just got isn't like that.

???

The loader was new, on the factory pallet when I took it home form the dealer to install myself. (The rest of my machine was purchased used).

It was definitely painted as one piece after the hydraulics were assembled to it - the short rubber hoses to the cylinders have green paint on them, but after some use, the paint is flaking off of the rubber a little.

There are only a few places I can see where there is no paint, such as under the bands strapping the hydraulic tubing to the cross-brace. I will take a look at it again and see if it is even primed under there.

The bucket appears to have been primed with black. Thats what color the bottom has worn to at this point (where its not already bare metal).
