Same crap goes on at another forum I've been active on for more than 20 years. Their posting policies are rigidly enforced on just about exactly half of the spectrum. Calling them out or complaining works about as well there as it does here.

Agree with a lot of what is being said, but I also see just about everyone on this website getting offended in one way or another. Even some of the pseudo tough guys cry about some really silly stuff.

So if I'm offended I should go somewhere else, but if I'm censored I should campaign for rule changes here? Gotcha.

For years I've deleted say 9 of 10 comments I typed (comebacks) and still do, and now I don't post in maybe 1 of 10 I try to keep up with w/o adding to. I could offend a lot of people without breaking the rules, but don't really care to.

So we can skip on so called etiquette, reading all posts in a thread before commenting, relevant titles, etc. It's easy to be offended and read on elsewhere, but it's also fun to sit back and watch.

Old grind, We should create a “getting offended easily is against the rules” forum And have a contest.

Real and pseudo tough guys can rip each other then apply a “j/K” or a bunch of smiley emojis to “tamp down” the offensive behavior and see who lasts the longest!

Now it's "you are allowed to have your own opinion as long as it is the same as mine".

With the advent of the internet and social media, everyone now thinks their opinion actually matters.

In one of my posts that was deleted I talked about HEF forum. 10 years ago it was very active. Today it's maybe 30% of what it was. The people with power let it go to their heads and ran off a LOT of very valuable members.

I just wish the person that shut down the thread had the stones to man up and tell us why the thread was shut down. I saw nothing to shut the thread down. Certainly not the last post. A chocolate bunny rabbit? Really?. How the "heck" are we supposed to learn what is offensive when no one will tell us what is offensive. What and who was it that crossed the line and that was so egregious to lock a very popular thread. Nope, you just get a stone wall of silence. No comment, no reason, not even a hint. Personally I think we are OWED an explanation. Without the hundreds of core contributors this site would fold like a house of cards. The sound of silence. It could work both ways.

The video made solid points as to where our society is headed and the migration that's propelling it. If you got hung up on the politics sprinkled in then you were prejudiced toward that type of thinking from the start.

Oh, you'll just hafta trust me on this one..... My politics absolutely, positively does not align with the Admin's. Trust me.
