Thank you. I mean that. I don't like killing an animal anymore than somebody else does. Yet what is worse is when I am doing it because somebody else thinks they are being "Humane."By ‘way back’ I meant behind the garage.![]()

Post your address & I'll bring the ones I trap over to your property.I use a Have A Heart trap with two open ends, then take em' for a ride. Otherwise, it's lead poisoning.
I usually release them on state game lands a few miles from my place. I can give you directions but it's a long ride from MI.Post your address & I'll bring the ones I trap over to your property.
I use a 12 gauge. If they hide or are too near a structure, I have the wife flush them out into an open area.So this huge groundhog is proving difficult to catch. He watched likely his family go in the trap. He pushes over the trap and eats out the bait from the bottom without triggering the door shut. He looks like a small bear. Set the trap again and waiting. Not sure I can shoot him after my eye surgery that impacts my ability to shoot on target. May have to learn to shoot left eyed with the 243 but he is very shy and runs at any sound etc
I don't have a shotgun and the eye does not have a straight line of sight and using the pistol with the other eye is possible but need to be close for a hit. For now I staked the trap so he can not turn it over and we will see.I use a 12 gauge. If they hide or are too near a structure, I have the wife flush them out into an open area.
Funny, my first thought was a new nickname for a tiller...
