Here's a parts list for the Gravely rotary plow that might help some of you to understand what it looks like.

I posted a couple other places with the following 2 ideas without much response then:

1) Put a rotary plow shank into a PHD.

2) Use a single disc plow on the 3 pt. The Kubota dealer in Orange, Va had 2 or 3 of these during an open house last fall. These would be more effective to be able to "throw" dirt, as apposed to say, a modboard type plow.

I built this from parts salvaged off a junked-out full size field digger. Originally a pull-type implement with wheels and mechanical lift, now it is a 3-pt unit. Seven cultivator tines are enough for my JD 4100 tractor, it can dig 9" deep, and I pulled up tree roots as big as 1.5" diameter with it the first time I ran it last fall.

Wow, jimgerken, I like that. Slap a coupla cans of krylon on it and it would look factory fresh!

I once bought a 10 ft pull type chisel plow at an auction for $40. Sold the two extensions to a guy that only wanted that (he came up to me after the sale) for $15. Cut the rest up and built a 6 ft 3PH chisel plow out of what was left, and sold the rest for scrap for a coupla bucks.

Yea, everyone who sees the pics says "paint it". I guess I felt that since the darn thing has sat outside all its life already, is probably older than I am, and will still outlast me, it doesnt get any paint. Maybe I will break down and waste some paint on it anyway. If it survives the Spring tillage without needing repair or modifications, I will spray something on it.
