I have a 1990 kubota L3250 4x4. I bought it used. There is a ground wire that goes from the battery to the alternator. This wire keeps getting hot and burning up. We have replaced it and it does the same. This problem came about all of a sudden. The tractor will not start when this happens. It acts as if the battery is dead. The battery is new and has plenty of amps.can anybody help me out there.

thank you
Todd

Is there also a ground wire/strap that goes from the battery to the block of the engine or frame of the tractor? If so, maybe it is bad or the connection is bad causing causing the other wire to carry too much current.

Yeah, I was gonna say, you could try a bigger wire ... but that might be masking another problem.

It sounds like the battery connection has very high resitance. Look for bad clamp, corrosion on cable, post or clamp. To the frame of the tractor...

Sounds very possible.
