I think you mean "supine", i.e. face-up. "Prone" is face-down, at which point you're endangering earthworms

since supine is lying on the back.. .. which I've never shot from a supine position..I'd prefer prone.. ie.. laying on the chest, head up, and arms out front.. a VERY VERY common shooting position when shooting from a mat, and preventing low profile.

Ah Grasshoppers, you got me on that one.

After the first shot, I may be a danger to earthworms too depending on the amount of rotation or bounce.

As to shooting from the supine, I use to hunt deer with a handgun and used a somewhat modified Creedmore Position and found it better for me than prone.

I am so wobbly now, if I am in anything other than the, upright, vertical, standing on two feet...position I will stay there until someone happens by.

Growing old ain't for sissies, but it beats the alternatives.

Since you brought up a shooting position correction error, I think you also posted an error-"preventing low profile" should have been "presenting low profile".:)

I don't think that it is silly, dumb or stupid for carrying a weapon. My reason for carrying one isn't for shooting snakes or pigs. I have a black panther that lives on the back side of my property and he can scare the living daylights out of you when you aren't expecting him. I don't have a gun rack on either of my machines but I carry (with CCL) a 9mm strapped to my leg the whole time I am back there. I really don't care how uncomfortable the gun feels as long as I am protected.

I hear ya. I live way up in the sticks and we also have a few pathers moving around. I also carry a 9mm when mowing or doing just about anything out on the farm. We also have alot of black bear but they usually leave you alone unless they have the cubs with them. Then it is a whole different ballgame.

BTW - there was recently an article in the paper that said the Gov't has declared there are ZERO panthers/Mountain Lions east of the Mississippi. So what we are seeing is NOT a panthers, ( yeah right)

I didn't post as a spelling error, Soundguy, that in itself is truly as you say "nitpicking". I posted as to the different meanings of the two words.
My intention was not to ruffle you, just to find out if you really meant what you posted.
