I back my mower between the wire and the pole. I have two of them on my property.

I went to the county recorders office today to do a search on my property for right a ways and or easements on it.
They asked me what kind I was looking for and when I said Cable Company she said Cable Companies aren't granted such things.
==That being the case I couldn't see spending 2 or 3 hours there searching back a hundred years over who knows how many former owners for nothing.

Seems like the Guy wire may be here illegally. That could explain why they didn't give me any lip when i put a stop to them putting a guy wire on another pole in my yard

Cable companies rent space on the pole from the electric company. Generally the easement is written for "utility" usage. This allows whoever got the easement, could be electric or telco, but usually electric, to allow the other on the easement. Cable piggybacks on this. Electric companies usually have fairly strict requirements of the cable companies on how to attach and guy. Cable companies generally try and ignore these requirements whenever they can get away with it. Good luck. Or you could just SSS the cable guy.

Yesterday I noticed the pole in my other neighbors yard has a guy wire on it.
Odd thing about it is the Pole is leaning to the left and the guy wire is pulling in the direction of the lean.

So much for the statement they always put the guy wires where they should be or are always in the right place. </font>

I called the power company shortly after I bought the place. Had noticed the pole shaking under very slight breeze. Bottom line - pole rotten needed replacing - no charge. The guy wire and pole were in a somewhat awkward localion so I asked if they could be moved. Sure, no charge on the pole but ?$50? to move the anchor. Decided to leave them there. I should have payed for the anchor.

As for the guy wire you mention on pole 'leaning to the left'. I have never seen a lone guy wire installed other than in a direct line with the incoming line. I have seen poles leaning (usually away from the strain) with a guy wire pulling in that direction.

I have A guy wire that I need to have removed or relocated but I can't even get Charter Cable to come out and look at the problem much less fix it.

Anyone out there in TBN Land ever have any success with getting Charter to do anything?

PS UPDATE

Got a guywire removed yesterday about 3 P M when a woman ran off the road above my driveway hit the culvert abutment and went air born across my driveway and then on across the front yard then landing in a 12 foot deep hole before coming to a stop.
She tore out the guywire anchor and all on a pole in my front yard.

Well, I got a guy wire removed but it was the wrong one on the wrong pole.
I don't think the driver was hurt to bad, but not sure.
The car was banged up but not as bad as I expected.

I was going to ask how much you paid her, until I saw it was the wrong one LOL. I have several guy wires here both from utility poles and my radio towers. I usually use the John Deere mower tractor in tight places and string trimmer around the guy wires.

Turns out she gave the police an out dated insurance card.
When I contacted the insurance agent they told me her policy was canceled in 2004.
So much for mandatory insurance. This makes twice in a row I've suffered damages from someone that didn't have insurance.
Like I told my wife compulsory insurance sure does protect everyone else against me but it don't protect me from anybody!

Don't know if this would work in your area, but I solved that little problem with the help of the O.P.P. once a few years back.

A drunk driver parked his truck on one of my wood splitters.

The nice officer agreed that it would be a very bad idea for said truck to be moved from its resting place until I was satisfied that damages would be covered.

The drunk was given a comfy ride out to see me when they let him out of his cell.

Apparently, once he sobered up and had the facts of life (regarding canceled insurance policies) explained to him, he thought it would be a very smart idea to ask me how he might make amends. After discussing the situation over coffee, he agreed with the officer that, since he would not be able to drive it for a long time, signing his 4 year old F350 over to me would be a nice gesture.

I ended up spending about $4000 and a few days labour fixing both the truck and the splitter. I figure I came out ahead.

Got a call from the state trooper yesterday.
He says The woman was charged with DUI and faces license suspension on that charge.
If she can't produce proof of insurance there will be other charges and penalties.
