Around here, everyone buys thier own faucets. Actually, you buy pretty much everything that will be seen, and the plumber supplies all the parts that are hidden or connect.

How else do you end up with exactly what you want? And from the plumbers perspective, he doesn't have to chase after the model/design you want, and can't be blamed for installing the wrong model. Its win/win right?

the plumber was livid that we bought our own stuff.. They builders gave us a catalog of every faucet maker and what grade faucet they had included in the pricing.. We didnt like a single thing they had spec'd (basic style and chrome, and we wanted a little more style and anything but chrome)..

I can only assume the plumber gets to make money off of the upgrade.. He finished the job but he wouldnt take care of a leak (after 2 wks he never even called back) or want to give us credit for the faucet he did NOT have to buy. The builders ended up shorting his last payment which really set him off..

We had just bought most of our lights so we just assumed (and the contract didnt state otherwise) we could buy faucets as well

It appears the model of toilet we have only has a 1 yr warranty.. So im off tomorrow to buy figure out what i want..

Any suggestions for a elongated, comfort/chair/handicap height toilet? Mfg, models numbers are greatly suggested.. From looking at Lowes I appears we can find something in the $200 or less range (i hope)

A small crack is all! Take your chances - may last forever. (However, I do like to go to Las Vegas once in a while.) You can pretend it is a public restroom and hover. Builds character, balance and muscles at the same time. Forget the gym!

Brian, If you're looking for a color, check to see what the order time might be. Last year we ordered a Kohler in Thunder Gray, round bowl, comfort height. It took 4+ months due to a shut down on colored toilets at the factory. The new housing slow down was the main reason. Of course I ordered the tub liner and custom made countertop locally the same day. They were ready in two weeks. So we more or less had to wait on the toilet. They found a tank in one warehouse and the bowl in another. Still took 4+months.

How am I suppose to hover while reading??? LOL

But if i did hover, someone would think I was an Olympic speed skater due to my huge thighs after a month or two...

UPDATE - got a Kohler from lowes (using my last 10% off coupon) and got it installed on Thursday.. It flushes much better than the American Standard we have.. One 'shoosh' and everything is gone.. There is no swirl, swirl, swirl flush on this one..

thanks for all the input and advise.. I kept the old tank and seat in case we end up having problems with either of the other toilets..

Yep, I do things like that, too, even though I know that stuff's going to be laying around in the way for a few years before I throw it away. About the only thing I'm reasonably sure of is that it'll never be used.:D

Nope it will be NEEDED when you finally get tired of looking at it, stepping around it, stepping over it, so you finally throw it away. THEN you need it. BTDT Bought the T Shirt. Got a closet full. :D:D:D:D

You're right, Dan, and you'll notice I didn't say it would never be "needed", only that it would never be "used". By the time it's needed, I'll either have thrown it away or forgotten that I have it or where I put it.
